This sounds like a bad panel to me.

i have fix tvs with this problem. i did this job on a 55 samsung led. the problem exist in the t-con were the ribbon goes the black strip that locks the ribbon with time and heats get bend not to see at the naked eyes, but true and freaky. first check the bad side of t-con by disconnecting one and were the clear image is the other ribbon is the bad side. what you need to do is add bit of Scotch tape in the ribbon like a center meter of tape folded and covering the pins of the ribbon.. the tape needs to be thin not to thick tape it would messed the black clip. thin is will be better... you going to see if there's change or not, if not move it to left or right or decrease the width of the center meter tape.

I'm very interested in what your saying here,as I have several tv's with this problem.
Could you explain in more detail (perhaps with pictures) what your exactly doing? KInda in the dark on the "covering the pins of the ribbon",you mean put the tape on the contact side of the ribbon? or on the other side to improve contact?

Hi , this is not a sure solution, only my guess, locate a series o diodes o diode packs on the panel distribution boards , then remove them one at a time until you find the culprit, if found , replace with a proper tvs diode rated at about 35v..

Panel issue, could be component/s on panel driver board/s, could also be a bad tab bond, solved same exact line issue on an old 2010 tv not long ago with a shim over the bad/loose tab bond, if picture clears up after putting a little pressure on the tab bonds, then a shim should do the trick if that is the issue.

this could be the problem, try a little pressure on the tab/s see if it clears up, if it does theres your problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=purk_SyiT44

do it after the 2 hours while the problem is active.

if a little pressure on the tabs has no effect, then try the taping method they mention above, if no joy, then might be a bad component on a panel driver board.

                              Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

                              Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
