    Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines

    Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape method a few times successfully but this time I'm stuck. The TV only has one ribbon cable from motherboard to panel and one ribbon cable (not sure of the correct name) connecting the two halves.

The black lines (and some coloured) are not that many and they shift some. Some goes through the whole screen and some doesn't. With tape I've managed to make them more and worse but that's it.

What would you suggest me doing? What do you think the problem is?

I've submitted two pictures, first picture shows fewer lines when the TV is not tampered with and the second shows TV when I've used tape over 2 signals showing more lines and colors.

I've also noticed a buzzing sound from the motherboard. Don't know what it means.

Also blank picture (but with sound playing) when disconnecting one at a time.

Ok, I've done all the boring tests and tried with tape everywhere. Next step is to get a multimeter and try connections. I've heard panel problems is pain so I'm hoping someone can tell me it's not the panel... If I'm not lucky, I'll will try to just sell it since I've found another TV for free instead.

If you can get the menu up/on screen display, see if the lines covering it too.

Maybe try a picture test: Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test

Test the buzzing, try it with ribbon cables from tcon to panel unhooked, unhook on tcon side to avoid shorts, see if it's still buzzing, then try it with cable from mainboard to tcon unhooked, see what you get. Last time I had mainboard buzzing it was bad solder joints, use stethoscope, hose or something to your ear and try to isolate the buzzing location.

Use internet search, put in samsung horrizontal lines, there's a ton of info. available.

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
                    by Ihandyrepair
                    Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Samsung UE70TU7020K Which lines to tape on a bad panel
                    by learnmore
                    Hello Community,

                    I'm working on a Samsung UE70TU7020K.

It looks like a bad panel. There is only 1 FPC cable from the Tcon (built into mainboard) to the panel.

I'm using a piece of tap a few mils (covers about 8-10 pins), at different locations and have had varying results but nothing that is remotely watchable (multiple lines across all the screen, half screen and total black out on screen). The buffer board is divided into 3 boards. I've disconnected the end board one at a time but each time the screen was totally black. I presume it's because the potential...

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...

Samsung UE49MU6105K - boot loop, horizontal lines
                    by blaster_
Less than a year out of warranty, samsung UE49MU6105K craps out, they've got this designed obsolescence down to an exact science of self destruct when out of warranty...

Screen started to show horizontal lines and ghosted image at the bottom, then turned off by itself. Did software update, to no avail of the line problem, and got a boot loop after some minutes of watching TV. This boot loop will turn on the backlights for some seconds the sound comes on, the image will turn dark very fast and then it reboots again. Pressing power button will not put it on standby. Disconnecting...
