I have a new problem. I'm just replacing the strips when I see the panel cabel is burned. Should it be fine or should I get a new cable?

Re: Philips 65PUT6121 - no backlight
It's from 2016. I tried playing from my laptop some music but since I couldn't see shit when trying to navigate on source I gave up on playing sound. I might just connect it to the tv outlet and see if I get some sound from there.
Black probe to chassis.
I didn't try voltages with panel disconnected. Will it make a difference? Since I suspected it was the strips I packed up the TV with all screws and everything.
Also I think some voltages should be 0 and not 3.8. I probably didn't notice my...Last edited by Rubenlily; 09-03-2023, 04:47 PM.

Philips 65PUT6121 - no backlight
Hey guys,
I have picture with flashlight but no backlight. Logo comes on quickly with low light before disappearing. When checking behind the tv I see backlight turning on in some holes before turning off and that's when the room is pitch black. Impossible to see otherwise. That explains the logo barely visible before disappearing. Don't know about sound but it should be fine. TV stays on.
Here are some pictures and numbers taken with TV on.
PIN1,2,3=VIN 33V
PIN4,5,6 =GND 0V
PIN7 =+18V 12V ???
PIN8=BL-ON 3.2V
PIN9=DIM 2.8V...

Re: Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
So just dispose this POS? I've never soldered in my life. Looked easy on YT lol. I just paid $25 for it so I don't care if I will have to throw it away but should I keep it and practice removing SMDs and stuff?
It's not my job this. I just do this for some extra in the pockets and because it's fun. Usually I have easier TV's to work on.Last edited by Rubenlily; 08-29-2023, 04:13 AM.

Re: Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
Thanks. I don't have any wick but I should get some I've learned. I shouldn't touch the drops that's already there right? Just to be more careful going forward....

I used some alcohol and tried to gently clean it up. Did I fuck up too much to save this?
If I broke the diod pad it shouldn't be an issue since I won't be putting anything back there right? But the resistor pad?Re: Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture

Re: Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
Did I fuck up here?
I think my soldering iron is bad or that I'm bad. Keep getting the solder stuck on the iron. Tried tinning and cleaning and using the paste but these didn't come off so easily as they probably should have.
Anyways. As you can see in the first picture here, I'm missing some silver part. Where the black part is... Did I fuck up bad or is that just dirt/dust?

AOC curved screen - can I fixed it?
Can I fix this?

$20. Seller says she didn't hit it or drop it or press it. She says it might have been injured during transport even though it was in its package and between her legs during the transport.
Something loose or panel physically damaged?Can I fix this?

Samsung 65" 4K (don't know model) - is this fixable?

I don't have much info. Seller doesn't share much but says it hasn't been hit or dropped and that it just appeared by itself.
Is it fixable and how much should I pay to buy it in this condition?...

Re: Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
No way, it's exactly the same resistors!!!!! Wow. I need to find some 10 ohm resistors then to place there. It's not 100 ohms right?...

I'll post pictures tomorrow of the full strips. But you're saying if I remove a diode or two it might get restored to normal condition?...

Re: Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
Hey! Thanks. I did, I checked every C0F carefully and didn't see any damage. Thought I might find something burned out. But I did fint something else. I don't know if these might be the problem but they looked a bit messed up compared to the other components.

I'm talking about R086 and R075. I think they looked a bit damaged, could that be the case? I believe they're labeled "100".
I'm trying to test them and I get...Last edited by Rubenlily; 08-21-2023, 05:27 PM.
