Does it rise at all when it cuts out, or fixed <0.1V?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Is nearby bad OLP the same voltage?
What's VREF measure?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

bad->"pad".
Noted there is VREF pad, so check that too.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Heres something interesting I found...
When I'm measure this pin, (PIN #19 i think) ill be 0.01V when the backlights go on.
And as it dims when it gets to the HDMI input. It'll raise up to 1.96V steady THEN the TV actually stays on and works!! But as soon as I remove my probe from the pin the TV turns off and starts cycling through the problem again?
I had a similar problem like this with that 32" dynex, where I just resoldered the ground pins and it fixed the problem (But only lasted 20 minutes til it fully died with a main board problem and I gave up on it)Comment

What voltage do you have at the EXTERNAL DIM pin14 on the inverter board, measure it with DC and AC mode on the meter.Never stop learning

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Just put the meter in AC volt position. I am trying to find out if this dimming control signal is Analog dimming control type (0~5v) OO if it is PWM AC signal (around 150~200Hz) type.Never stop learning

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Pin 14 on the inverter connector, you can see the label by the connector. I remember troubleshooting the Inverter board for Philips Tv on the thread, we had the bl_on, the 24v, etc, but nothing on the PWMDIM, the lamps will flash on and then go out (2-second to black). Took us awhile to find out that the PWM has 0V reading (stuck low), when we disconnect the PWM pin, the backlights will stay fully on. So I am not sure if this inverter is using variable DC to control the dimming or PWM for controlling the dimmimg.Last edited by budm; 02-08-2013, 01:40 PM.Never stop learning

What meter was used for that measurement? Try measuring AC with probes reversed - sounds odd, but some meters only look at the positive cycle of any AC.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Can your meter read frequency? The PWM for dimming is around 150~200Hz with variable pulse width, the amplitude is 0~5V typical, and since it is not sine wave the AC value reading will not make sense especially if it is not True R.M.S meter.Last edited by budm; 02-08-2013, 01:54 PM.Never stop learning

by maudaI'm currently working on repairing a malfunctioning Sony TV model KD-65XE7005 with the mainboard 1-981-926-21. I would appreciate your assistance with this issue.
Upon powering on the TV, the Sony logo appears for approximately 3 seconds, after which the backlight remains lit, the screen remains black, and nothing else happens. The TV consumes around 55W initially and then drops to 35W. The indicator LED remains solid white. It doesn't respond to the remote control. When attempting to update the TV using a USB dongle, the dongle briefly flashes but nothing else happens.

by tec3000Hi community! Germany calling
I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I have an issue with my Sony LED TV. I've been told this is a good place to ask. Thanks for anyone who will reply and offer advice. Appreciated!
I have a KD-65X9005A Sony 4k LED TV. For a few weeks I've got this problem where I turn on the TV and within a few seconds the TV starts getting darker until it shuts itself off and I get the 4 blinking error code. HOWEVER there is one exception: Whenever I switch to the i-Manual, a full screen on-screen instruction manual, the TV never turns off. I tested for hours!... -
by matwanHello,
I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
1. Running power board as stand alone:
TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.
2.Running power board with TCON as stand alone:
Effect as below, attched.
3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
"I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.
Best regards.... -
by GoodCapDudeHi everyone. First post on Badcaps!
I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot.... -
by AK_777Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.
Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and... - Loading...
