Re: PN60E535A3F Samsung Turns on but no Picture
Finally had time to do some research. Turns out the problem is within the Y-main board.

PN60E535A3F Samsung Turns on but no Picture
Wow, its been 5 years since the last time I posted here. Had been troubleshooting TV's for 3 years prior that while fixing hundreds of sets but now I can barely remember the basics of where to begin.
So I just picked up this Samsung Plasma set. Couldn't resist the free stuff. The set will turn on (little chime plays) but there is no picture.
Upon opening the back, the Vs and Va Voltages seem to be missing. They seem to be dropping off when the set first turns on. Vs starts at 211V and Va starts at 57V (The correct voltages from the label) and then steadily...

Re: Vizio standby light but will not power on
Do you have the serial number of the main board? A photo of it would be nice also.

Re: HP-S5053 4 blue blinks - no video or audio
I currently have this set and working. The blue standby light stays on when plugged in. It'll blink 4 times and then go off while the chime sounds and the tv turns on. This is the normal start up process.

Re: Viewsonic n3260w No Power, no standby
Do you still have the main board? I'm looking to buy a salvaged one for this set.Last edited by tieny; 07-03-2013, 05:00 PM.

Re: Problem with Vizio LCD VX37L HDTV
I had a 37" Vizio with a similar problem. Turned out to be the main board at fault. There will be a delay when the Tv is turned on before you can access the OSD menu or change the input. After replacing the main board the delay problem was fixed.
Usually with the RGB input itll shut off if there is no input. So if it shuts off and turned back on with no inputs there will be a delay that will prevent you from accessing or changing the input and itll shut off once again and youll be stuck in this loop.

Re: 37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning off
Thats true I didn't have any control at all from remote or button. It was only until the TV "warms up" after it turns on. But since it was initially on RGB it would always shut off before "warming up." and I wasn't able to switch to any other inputs. Thus the problem where itll be stuck with this loop...
I'm still not sure what the previous owner did. I swore I saw that hdmi cable, or maybe I was crazy and it was actually VGA. O.oLast edited by tieny; 03-23-2013, 06:36 PM.

Re: 37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning off
I just found the problem.
It seems with these vizio tv's whenever its on the RGB input, it will shut off when there is no signal input for it. Took me buying another main board to figure this out...
I found out that it will take about 15 seconds until the OSD menu and input menu will be accessible. However since it was on the RGB input it would shut off before the 15 seconds and thus i wasnt able to change the input at all. So I hooked on my laptop allowing the TV to stay on waited until i can open the menu and then...

Re: 37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning off
Bleh, main board problems...
Guess this one is a bust.
So I'm parting this one out on ebay. Even the main board, maybe someone else can get it and fix it for cheaper. If anyone needs any parts from a Vizio VX37L just let me know.

Re: 37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning off
Dissassembled everything, checked CCFLs and they all seem good and working...
The problem again with this TV:
TV powers on fine, shows a blue screen with the no signal message, and then shuts off. While the TV is on, I cannot get the OSD menu open or change any inputs on the tv or with the remote. It just only says "No Signal" (With this fact I'll assume a bad main board...?)
The guy I got it from said itll only stay on if theres a source hooked on it and itll shut off to save power if theres...

Re: 37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning off
I noticed a blue LED diode on one of the inverter board that lights up bright and slowly fades off when the TV turns on. I've never seen this before, is it possibly indicating a problem with the inverter board, or a possibly a bad ccfl lamp? That would explain the reason for assuming a bad lcd panel from the link i put in post #5.

I disconnected the side button board and turned on the tv with the remote but the tv is still turning off.

I think those readings are good.... I don't know anything about DU1, 7805CT but I'm going with my gut feeling that its not the problem... ugh another unsolvable one..
I've been searching on google for a similar problem and found this

Its stating that this problem is caused by a bad LCD panel?? Is that even accurate at all?Re: 37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning of...e readings are

37" Vizio VX37L Keeps Turning off
I have a 37" vizio VX37L that keeps turning itself off when I turn it on.
So plugged in, with vizio amber light in front, I press the power button, amber light turns white and the tv turns on. About 3 seconds laters the TV turns off and the vizio led in front goes back to amber.
I'm measuring 4.63V on the PS_ON, when it turns on.
I'll post up photos of the main board, and info on the regulators in a bit.
