Something is wrong with your meter if 5V measures 9.4V.

Make sure you have the black negative wire hooked to the metal chassis of the TV, are the black and red wires plugged into the correct ports on the meter itself? can you post a picture of the meter with the two wires plugged in? and also show where you have the dial set? Thanks

                  Re: sanyo no back ligth

Is the connector where you measured labeled CN6? List any voltages you are getting.

                  NC = ? V
                  BL-On = ? V
                  BL-Dim = ? V
                  5V STB = ? V

of course Gnd is Ground and will not have any voltage.

OK, suspect the inverter portion of P/S. As it is being told to turn on and brightness is set correctly.

There is usually a separate fuse on the combo boards.

It means the signal from the main board is too low to turn on the baclights inverter.
I believe someone in this forum has the service manual for this dp42849.
Any luck on posting the pictures of all the boards so we can see how they are connected together?

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 5 15ITL05 laptop. It turns on with a video signal on the screen but without lighting. I tried a new screen but it gave the same problem.

This computer uses the GS55J GS55K NM-D211 REV 1.0 2020-08-14 motherboard but I can't find a schematic, it also uses a r156nwf7 touch screen and I can't find where to test to verify if I'm missing any signal or voltage....

Need help identifying the missing cap on the back of an i5 3570
                                            by TheKROCZ
Hey guys. I have an i5 3570 with a capacitor knocked off from the back of the cpu. I got it with a semi faulty mobo that I got for really cheap. The rest of the cpu is in a bad shape as well but its mainly cosmetic damages. I did try to run it and my test bench booted but the system never posted. It just got warm. My test bench did not crash either. It just kept running.

From the looks of it, I think the cpu can be revived by soldering on a new capacitor. However, no matter where I look online, I am unable to find any details about the capacitor or anything about the layout of those...

                                            Hi All,

I need some help with this one please. I am attempting a repair on the backlight. TV turns on and flashes the LG logo so stripped it down and found one faulty LED. Replaced it and tested on an LED tester and the strip was good. Put it back onto the PSU and it lasted about 20 seconds before going out again. Same LED had blown. Changed it for another type of SMD one (same voltage) and it seemed fine. Put the TV back together but it was quite dim. Noticed it was in power save mode so turned it off and the screen was bright. Left it on for half an hour only to come back to the...
