Re: Philips 52PFL5704D/F7 Sound and Backlight, No Video.
Thanks to this post my 52pfl5704d/f7 ... just went out on me. I was watching the Tv went to the bathroom came back TV was sound no picture. When rebooting the TV it gave me the vertical line colors but only for top portion of the screen.
I took the T-con board off and cleaned with 91% alcohol with very soft toothbrush the entire board gently front and back and ribbon cables both and both ends let dry and also peeled that plastic off that was on the top part of the pads before I reinstalled T-con and shield and TV works fine now.... fingers crossed on how long it will lastLast edited by dcaron614; 01-29-2015, 10:06 AM.Leave a comment:

Should I post my own thread on this?
Any idea's on how the picture is? Would this still be the T-con causing this?

Re: Philips 52PFL5704D/F7 Sound and Backlight, No Video.
Today's update:
Determined I didn't have the ribbon connectors seated properly, the small tabs on each side I had above the socket, noticed they need to be in the socket, got the cables seated correctly and I now have a picture, well almost a full picture,
About 12" on the left side is still scrambled, can see the picture through the lines but not clear like the rest of the picture is.
Any idea on that? Going to try re-cleaning the ends of the ribbon cables with alcohol in a few than will try it again.

Re: Philips 52PFL5704D/F7 Sound and Backlight, No Video.
Just went out and plugged the power cord back in, TV came on half the screen bright white, the other half like grey and black horizontal lines, than one side was multi color vertical lines other side was white, when ever I touch the socket (s) where the ribbon cables plug in ( top of the T- con board) the screen changes colors but still no picture.
Question, I unplugged both connectors on the bottom of the T-con board and the screen stayed the same with the lines, what might that mean?Leave a comment:

Removed the rear panel, removed the T-con board, cleaned it, let it dry, re-installed it, nothing, pressed on the ribbon connectors on the top of the board and got something on the screen, lines, than one side was white the other was black, now nothing.Leave a comment:

Re: Philips 52PFL5704D/F7 Sound and Backlight, No Video.
Hello all, Just received one of these TV's today, my old boss gave it to me to see if I could get it working, he said I could have it. it's a Philips 52PFL5704D/F7
Can anyone post a pic of what each part is when you remove the back panel? I hear everyone talking about different parts but don't know which is which.
Right now the tv's back light is on and I get sound but nothing else,
Thanks
Large tan board on the left: Power supply
Large board with accessory inputs on the right: Main board
Long vertical boards on outer edges: Inverters

Re: Philips 52PFL5704D/F7 Sound and Backlight, No Video.
Hi, I am trying to diagnose my T-con board. So far I have found that the fuse labeled XD is open. Is there a way to test other components or are there other components that commonly fail? Or should I replace the fuse first and then go from there?
The input voltage to IC201 is 0V when the TV is on. Would that be powered by the XD fuse, or does it's power come from a different source?Leave a comment:

It's not a blurring, I'll post a video of it when I get home, if I can get it to happen again. Pretty trippy effect.Leave a comment:

by Max514Hi all,
Ok so I have this beautiful un55h8000 samsung tv with sound but no video nor backlight. When turning the set on the red light blinks 5 times.
The screen shows no damage and backlight turns on when I disconnect the power supply from the main board. The tcon board only has 2 out of 3 leds on.
I came across this page and followed the different steps: https://techhometravel.com/samsung-u...ight-no-video/
- Unplugging the main board cable at the power supply >>> backlights came on.

by triplefourthis tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by bohabohawhen i power on the TV is black ,Do I remove the right or the left ribbon I get respectively the right or the left half screen working
Do I disconnect the plug from the power supply, no backlight
Thought the backlight would light up when you remove the plug from the power supply but no
What could be wrong if both halves work separately?... -
by gl4709I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.
