I'm going to wait to see if I hear back from the guy I bought it from before I pull it apart , I've only had it about 3 days now , if I don't hear back by tonight I'm going to test the fuse , I see the pics in the first part of the thread showing were it is and have a multi-meter to test , but before I jump the gun I want to see what he's wanting to do about it. ( by the way thank you for the fast response that was quick )

@SCR open up your set and follow the steps in this thread.
Take pictures as you go and make a list of what tests you have done.
If it still doesnt work report back stating what you have done and post the pictures.
post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

I think I'm the one that bought that TV, I did some googling on the problem and wound up here , Read through the thread and it sound exactly like whats going on with this one , I need this one fixed asap , I threw out my old tv when I got this one and have family spending a week with me starting monday , any advice on this, I haven't opened the tv yet but I can assume the fuse is blown again , I've done several component replacements on laptop motherboards so I think I can handle the repair but just need to know what the best option would be.

Original fuse was 4a, replaced with a 5a, took days to blow, do you think there is a short somewhere in the tcon board or maybe I damaged it when soldering, it is very small and was difficult to get into place, I held the iron on there for more then I wanted to trying to get it into place...

What is highest amp replacement I should go to?

Well, TV was working good, sold it and the buyer just let me know that he lost video after 2 days. Sound and backlight still working. Assuming fuse blew again. Wish I could just find this freakin T-Con board.

That is correct, my fuse is still good. My T-Con board has other problems. I lifted the the legs on the IC201 reg to see if it was shorted out of circuit and it seems to be testing good. Not sure what component might be bad now. I will keep checking.

Glad to you got it fixed!

I am still planning on trying to fix my T-Con board. I think IC201 is shorted. I will take it off the board tomorrow to measure it out of circuit.

Replaced the little SMD fuse labeled XD with
    http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...60CT-ND/521358
and success! TV now has video.

The audio sounds horrible though not sure if speakers were blown when I got it. I thought maybe had to put back cover on because there is some part of the speakers built in to the back cover but it didn't help.
But glad the video is up and running because still had not been able to locate a T-Con board replacement.
Thanks to all who helped with this one!

If anyone knows anything about the audio please let me know!

My bad part of the speaker system is on the back cover and 4 screws on bottom need to be tightened to make contact, sound is working normally now!

Awesome, did you put it back together already or could you provide some data on the working set if necessary?

Thanks selldoor that look's like you figured it out! Digikey is out of those, but I already ordered the one tom66 said, it's 5a 32v it should get us to the next step at least... At least we know it's a fuse now. Wonder what that other cylinder shaped component is...

Think I have finally solved the XD Fuse riddle.
Felt some responsibility as I raised the thought that it might not be a fuse in the first place.
I found reference to a digital camera fuse "xd" 4A 32v but nowhere does it state what the XD refers to. I then found a list of Camera fuse values - various letters of the alphabet including XD at 4A 32V. Some google searches then referred to this as a Littelfuse but Littelfuse do not have a fuse with an XD marking. Further hunting brought up Littelfuse/Wickmann. (I think Wickmann must have been taken over by Littelfuse or something) - a search on Littelfuse site does bring up some Wickmann Fuses but no SMD ones.

Searches on Wickmann just produced site may be for sale!!!

Back to the camera lead - found one on ebay referring to it as a FCD121400TP. That took me back to a Littelfuse on Digikey. The datsheet for that is an FCD12 Which is a Wickmann Datasheet. https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...32fdfa6aa7.pdf (I have also uploaded it in case Digikey deletes it.) Next to the bottom on on the list is the 4a 32v and it says it has the marking XD. No actual picture of it but look pretty certain. I did think of emailing Littelfuse but its a form so too much hassle.

Other pictures of these boards have a green Littelfuse so may have been replaced.

It's in the right place to be a fuse. Definitely looks a lot like one to me.

Samsung UN55H8000 sound but no backlight no video
    by Max514
    Hi all,

Ok so I have this beautiful un55h8000 samsung tv with sound but no video nor backlight. When turning the set on the red light blinks 5 times.

The screen shows no damage and backlight turns on when I disconnect the power supply from the main board. The tcon board only has 2 out of 3 leds on.

I came across this page and followed the different steps: https://techhometravel.com/samsung-u...ight-no-video/
    • Unplugging the main board cable at the power supply >>> backlights came on.

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
    by Ierwin
    Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Samsung un55cu7000d with backlight and sound No Video / Picture
    by gl4709
I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.
