    Panasonic TH-46PZ85U Power Issue

I have a Panasonic plasma that has the error code of 2-blinks.
I have downloaded the service manual and troubleshooting guide.

It is a 15v SOS issue.
There are three causes for this; Missing 15v, a short, or wrong diagnosis by D-board.
I have tested for a short at pin 1 at P7 and I have 1.6 kohms. (it does drain though)
Then there is 15v present (at all locations) before the relay clicks off.
I have replaced both the D and P board (except P(AC)).

I am still having the 2-blink issue.
I am suspecting another bad D-Board maybe?

    Any suggestions?

Also, if it may be relevant, if you hold the power button down while it is doing the 2-blink error code it turns to 10 blinks.

If you go to this AVSForum thread you'll find lots of info.

    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...ighlight=mc301

Start about 4 post from the bottom of page 33. Sounds like you may a power control module MC301, MC201 cap problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link, and ya there is a lot of information.

I see in the forum where it could be that module issue with the cap but I have already replace the entire board, you wouldn't think it would have that issue would you?

I guess I could always check to be safe but I'm leaning towards an A board.

I'd try and do the 2 blink checks.

        http://www.scribd.com/doc/46124232/T...GPH11DU-Chasis

This is the one I used for a 42pz80u and a 50pz80u. The 42 was the A board.
The 50 I replaced the cap on the MC301. You could try the cap fix on the old board. The caps are only about $2 each at Radio Shack.

Well, I bought the same model with a cracked screen for $50 and replaced all the power boards, A board, and D board and...........7 blinks lol.....well at least it was something new lol so I replaced the Y sustain and IT WORKS.

2 blinks can be the SC board but their troubleshooting guide kinda threw me for a loop.

          But it works

            drpj23,
Do you still have the A board ? What is the suffix and would you be willing to part with it ?

I have a TH-46PZ80U and I am considering preemptively changing the little 1uf smd caps on the MC301 and MC201 boards. Is is best to use lytics or non-polarized ceramic?

              This guy used lytics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjpGKaBt8hg

Umm It may be in a box somewhere or I don't have it. I'll let you know if I find it.
And bluto, if that lytic worked then I would do that.

                  1. Reseating the connector P25 may solve the problem. If it does not.
2.Right before the unit shuts down, check the VSUS voltage at connector P2 of the power supply. If VSUS voltage measures zero volt, disconnect the connector P2 and SS11. Check the VSUS level at socket P2. If it is still low, replace the P board.
                  3. Unplug the unit and disconnect the connectors A5, A6, and A7. Apply power to the TV. If a White screen comes up and all voltages check normal, replace the P board.
                  4. If the TV stays on after isolating the SC board, then replace the SC board and the D board; it is likely that the fuse on the D board is blown

I see replacing the Y-Sustain fixed it late night didn't read down enough Congrats on saving your set

                    Re: Panasonic TH-46PZ85U Power Issue

Ok, new problem has arisen with the tv.

It cuts on an plays for about 15 mins then shuts off and resets back on (with relay clicks)

Then plays for another 5 mins possibly then resets again (shuts off then back on)

Then in smaller intervals until finally it the relay just clicks until you unplug it.

I have not taken the back off yet, but am letting sit and going to see if a reset does anything (doubt it will but eliminate solutions).

Anyone have ideas? BTW there are no blinking codes upon shutdown - it just shuts off.
I'll prob get it apart in about 30 min.

                      Re: Panasonic TH-46PZ85U Power Issue

Probably heat related - due to the fact that the power supply has the FETs and other heat sink components underneath it. Something gets too hot and voltage drops cutting the power supply off but it has got to be something that doesn't trip the error detection.

No i did not...But, with the back off and a fan right on the P/S it runs all night.

I actually may have a couple of the P/S's in stock and when I switch it out, I'll check for bad solder joints then.

Not just solder joints. Check the plugs/connectors and board interconnects too. Was the problem in another thread. Turned out to be the problem in a buried board.

Well, tried replacing the power board (had 2 on stock) but they both were duds -_-
Well with the original back in it has been running for about an hour with no fan (back off though) so could have been something Toasty was alluding to.

I have a board here from a 42" and it seems the values are different depending if its the MC301 or MC201.
                                        MC201 is 101 (100ohms) MC301 is 201 (1kohm)

With the left one pulled out, the screen is black and white, split down the middle. With the right cable removed, it is all black. Backlight is working fine and we have sound and can open applications. We are strapped for money right now and are hoping to repair whatever the issue may be. I think the TV was manufactured in 2012, so I'm aware that may not be possible. Edit: Found a single vertical line of blue pixels on the left side of the screen with one of the ribbon...

                                          Hi
Got my Panasonic plasma tv that stopped working suddenly.
Took out the cover all the leads from the powr baord in the middle apart of the main 220AC. and measured Vsus and 15V DC on P2 and P11 connector. Found nothing. Concluded it is the board
Replaced with a second hand one but still the same issue.
Cannot see the 5V or the 15V on the board with or without all the other leads attached.
Here is an example of what I have measured on P6 connector (see the image).
3V DC on pin 6 (STBby 5V and
                                          0,3V DC on pin 7 (F_stdby_on)

                                          No lights on LED,...

Hello,i have panasonic TX-43HX580E,I tried to enable 48 bit color,HDR10+ and ALLM and stuck at boot loop screen.I have modified edid.edid.

I have backed up PQ,SPI,and Profile if anyone want

Which usb_auto_update_??.txt can i use to dump firmware?

I would be grateful if anyone could help me to find the firmware for USB recovery.

                                          panasonic CF-54 battery drain issue!
                                          by imran421
I have cf-54 with a strange problem. It charges the battery to 100% but discharge it with in 10 min.
I tried multiple battries not a single one works. Seems to be an issue with CF-54
