  • Philips 42PFP5332D/37 (Samsung PDP) Clicking Off

    The Samsung panel is S42AX-YB03

With the main disconnected (power supply has auto-on) the issue persists.

The screen will initialize and then a white flash appears on the L-viewing side before it shuts off. The set has to be unplugged to come back on. The MICOM riser board in the power supply then begins to blink once every 2-3 sec.

Setup A: With the PSU and CTRL board isolated (only AC and wire harness connecting PSU and CTRL board). The issue remains unless I remove the VS_ON pin from the CTRL board. The power supply will stay on with only 5v and...

  • Sharp LC-46SB54U Blink codes/Issues

This set does have a history.
Originally, about 7-8 months ago, it had an error code but you could force the power supply on (via those button codes) and I reset the error codes and it worked for that length of time.

It came back with the power and OPC light blinking twice and I suppose the power light once more. You could get the set to power on (ch- and vol+ (might be other way)) but it would only have a steady power light. There was no backlight, image, or sound. The voltages checked out OK so we ordered a main.

That has come in and now has a different set of...

I am not familiar with using that.

So, here are the ctrl board and main....

    started a topic Lg 42pt350-ud

    Lg 42pt350-ud

I don't know how to exactly label this but upon cutting on tv the panel initializes for a brief 3-5secs and then goes off but the TV remains on till you cut it off. All the voltages are present.
The only one that changes is ER on the Z-SUS which starts at 20 in the first 3-5secs but then after the panel goes off jumps to 60-70..or it may be the opposite.

Could anyone guide me on this repair?
Of course now that I have wrote that last sentence about ER I am thinking it may be the Z-SUS.

  • Re: Sony KDL-40EX500 No Power

I would think so too but if I would unplug the inverter the error is still there.

Well I had a 400 series come in and thought I would swop the power supply and I suppose the power supply can also trip the BL_ER if something is wrong with itself because it works with the new power supply. Go fig.

  • Sony KDL-40EX500 No Power

This sony seems to have no apparent power but does have 3.3v stby.
On top of that there is 3.3v at BL_ER which I believe is signaling an error.

I have already replaced the main but in no change in symptoms.

I have read, as well, on here that this tv does have some inverter errors but there are no flashing lights or error diagnostic.

I am just thinking i have a faulty main but I need a second opinion or test procedures.

    L5973D works from digikey.

Replaced it and everything seems to be working for now. Just be careful for there is an exposed pad on these SOICs.

  • Re: Samsung HLN567WX Display Issues

I believe there is a setting in the service menu for different color wheels.
In otherwords, is the length of each color on the new wheel the same as the old?

I can't remember if it caused this but something to look into.

When the color wheel is replaced, make sure
to adjust the delay value of 1.DDP1010 to
    factory settings.
(Adjust to the position where the color red is
    strongest.)

So that goes to 0-359 where 223 is default. I think is more for color issues but worth a shot I...

  • Re: Element FLX-3210 no power

Hey, I am actually fixing this one.
On mine, the 450v caps (the ones you mention) are failed though.
If you have all the voltages, the supply is prob ok, though recap is not a bad idea especially on these megmeet supplies. Make sure it is getting the BL-ON command though from the main. (white wire on the other connector)
And the red light does not flash on mine. Right next to it is a programmable chip but I have not really looked into what it does.

Replaced Y-main again and it is currently working.
I suppose something failed on it which was feeding the X-main incorrectly.
Unfortunately, I don't have anytime to figure out what failed.

  • Re: Sony KDL-37L4000

What does the OSD look like? I have a M4000 with pic issues (image just has whites/yellows/reds/ and black), I am thinking this is a main too.

Both pics are with only the middle buffer ICs connected.

Second pic is showing how black is appearing.

Sorry, pictures are hard to get as TV is facing a wall....

Yep, I dont have a cable right now but will try tonight.
But, it looks as before being that the panel looks partially primed (as the Samsung screen saver will only show in the "primed blob" as it bounces around)

But ya, I can see where the "no signal" box would be but just leaving the middle 2 buffers connected the box comes up not perfect but ya.....you'll see lol

  • Re: Samsung TV LN46A650 turning on and off.

You are probably checking the p/s in standby and therefore only that voltage will be present. You need to cut the TV on to test the others. You can post back with results in respect to the legend (since we are not looking at the board or include pictures)
It more or less sounds like main problem but it would be good to verify the power supplies voltages.
TVs also use many variations of boards depending on when it was made and revisions etc. ShopJimmy is just saying that the other board can work as a substitute for your original....

Well new x-main did not change anything.
It almost looks like there is a pic but a black mask.

Also, it seems the more ffc's i unplug from the buffer board, the better I can see the no signal box.

I have a scope if you can tell me how to use it (well I have a general knowledge of using one) but perhaps what to look for.

  • Re: Toshiba 42HP66 flickering

You probably are looking at repairing the Y-sus.
The floating ground is using the sustain boards ground rather than chassis ground but it should still be static I would think.
I would put pictures up and wait for ones like budm or tom66 to help you.

  • Re: Hitachi 55HDT52 - VCEGO/VSAGO ON for 2 seconds

Wow, you were right. I found 1 buffer IC (cant remember where right now but it was on the upper buffer) that was bad.
Though, I still don't know why I couldn't get the voltages to be present without the sustain boards plugged in, suppose there is some type of feedback.

Anyways, know of a good product for that silicon around the chips?
