Re: Funai/Magnavox 32MF301B/F7 Picture color washed out and flipped upside down
There several different main board versions for this model# make sure you have the correct main board you can identify this by matching the 1st 3 characters of the serial#
(Example DS7= A1AFCMMA-001 (MAIN).... ME4= A17FAMMA-001-DM (MAIN)
Also if you do have the service manual, look for the "SCALER" setting you might try that adjustment, this changes the rotation of the picture

Re: Magnavox 46ME313V/F7 LCD shuts off immediately after displaying splash screen
The Voltage that should be present @ Protect 3 should be 3.3 volts once the backlight drive circuit turns on...and will constantly be there unless something @ the panel or the backlight drive circuit forces that Protect line low.If that voltage goes low (0 volts) most likely your having a led failure within the panel...

Re: Service manuals available free
Follow part 1 page 2-4 of training manual of putting set into the self diagnostic mode
NOTE!! you must first power set on normally and let set shutdown first before trying to enter self diagnostic all this is done from set front panel buttons.... when I was servicing these sets don't remember a code 21...

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
I personally have only used variable dc supplies when I'm applying gate or base voltages to a solid state device which allows not only to bring up the operation of the device slowly but also allows me monitor current drain also, but you can try your wall wart but the gate voltage must be higher than you drain source to make the junction conduct.

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
you can test out of circuit with similar hookup to circuit in set with pins 5678 @ 5 volt supply voltage pins 2/4 hooked to variable dc supply pins 1/3 to load source then run you variable dc up on pins 2/4 once you get above the breakover voltage which would be above your drain supply voltage then you would see output at your source.NOTE your are referring to 7u25?

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
I'm out town and away from the schematics but, check the 12 volt supply from power supply, you can use fig 17 from training guide for checks

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
1.2V for the output of 7m06 is correct, upon power on are you seeing the 12vsw @ 3U39?
what is the base voltage of 7U24 before set is powered on? what is base voltage of base 7U24 after set powered on? yes your reading right that AJ15 pin feeds through 3u42 to base of 7U24

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
standby processor gets its vcc @pin AK12,which is derived from 7M06

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
in order for the source of 7U25 to go to 5v base of 7U24 must go high turning on 7U24 therefore putting the collector of 7U24 low through the gnd path of the emitter of 7U24
turning on 7U25 gate with the 5v sitting on drain for developing the source 5 volts

Re: PHILIPS 42PF7421D/37 Chassis EL1.1 U AA
Look @ the voltage from 7U25 transistor pin 1 and 3 for 5V this is a run voltage refer to fig 8 in the training manual this 5v run voltage is what is monitored by the standby processor IC 7J00

Re: Philips 42" 715T2432-2 issues
I have used this power kit from ShopJimmy which fixes most of all the common issues on this board including the power supply "chirping" out of about 15 boards I've done haven't had replace any of the switch mode transformers mention in above posting see attached for kit...
