Hi
I received such Laptop as junk. Opening it I saw a lot of whitish water residue , but no corrosion really ( few coils have small brown rust marks, no green copper ).
I cleaned all thoroughly and interestingly , its the Battery BMS board that has the real corrosion spots.. under the protective clear Goo !!
I want to try and power up the laptop
Battery is swollen. But I don't want to buy a new battery right now , of course .
I started work on the BMS by zooming in on green spots . 2 VIAs are filled with rusted copper goo - who...

LG Flatron L1953TR : CCFL connectors confusion ( forgot to take a photo before disassembling )
I forgot to take a photo and now I am not sure how to reconnect
As you can see , I have 2 pairs , each pair has 2 colored wires : the black_ish connector and blue_ish connector
There must be a convention to help decide , I assume
How do I reassemble ?
Thanks1 Photo

I repaired a dead JBL Flip 6
No sign of life : Disconnecting the battery reset the Firmware and solved it
Judging by the Charger getting hot : It charged fine . Replugging it drew ~220mA for 15 seconds than 0.00 = Bat. IC negotiations.
Key combinations didn't solve the problem
Opened to inspect the board but it looked mint ( <2Yr old device ) , opening involves disconnection the Battery. Battery measured 4.2V .
Decided an hour later to reconnect the Battery and check On/Off - maybe the Firmware was reset as it does in laptops ( needs V to keep the settings )

The TV was brought to me from someone I guided. I told him to mask tracks and things got better - to the green hue state in the photo in my first message.
I did mention a short as a probable cause .
Anyway , The hole is a fact now. I'll leave the TV , in an angel, till tomorrow and decide . Probably throw away but sell the electronics

There was/is no fluid.
The pixels area was not drilled .Last edited by Ancient1; 12-11-2023, 08:17 AM.

Hi Davi.p
Amazing !!! And a little disapointing
I drilled through without any issue with my dentist drill heads
On 1st power up the screen was GOOD - Amazing
Than after few minutes the dot lines appeared
I tilted the TV - perhaps fluid should leak down and the situation will improve ?
There is also a horizontal line on the upper side .. no idea if it was there before..
Overall , I consider this another miracle repair by you
Thank you !!! 🎅 Merry Christmass...5 Photos

Thanks for the advice Davi.P .
I have diamond disc , Dentist drills , and Glass tools . Not the first time I do VERY delicate job with tiny parts ( solder wires to 0402 cap because the pads are gone ). We'll see...

Hi Davi.P
Pressure on the Flexes does not have ANY impact on the display.
" there is a delamination where the liquid flown around damaging the transistors" : I don't understand what "liquid" you mean ? What do you mean by "drill" ? open the bulge ?
The distribution board is taped to the chassey, not easy to remove. Do you think there is any point flipping the Panel and checking what is underside the bulge ?
btw - Go to local Dentist and ask if he has used drills . It is easy to adapt to a Dremel.Hi Davi.P2 PhotosLast edited by Ancient1; 12-10-2023, 02:12 PM.

Interesting unusual Panel Defect ?
Hi
Pilot PD43S9HE Led TV . Panel model: See in photos
Photos tell it all really. ( added Logo image photo )
The bulge in the area before the panel Matrix .
To me it looks like a local short that heated inside.
Should I waste my time in flipping the panel , as if this issue can be repaired ?
The distribution board at this end looks ok , though I did not measure anything
What are your thoughts ?
CheersHi

I'm stuck . Panasonic TH-L32U20M panel's boards issue
Hi
The TV seem to start ( blinking green) but goes into blinking red. No display and or backlight. Full view photo.
Actions :
1. Disconnected Panel's Right, 2nd, board : TV comes ON (steady green , no blinking red )
1a. You can see in two photos the B/W screen , fading blue "HDMI12" , and the wierd sides of the image, like an old CRT.
Obviously the fault is from or on the Right, secondary board
2. I taped the Flex tracks, ~2 tracks at a time- see Photo. The issue...

How to Test : Bad Backlight Driver OR Faulty_Strip
Hi
Its a "dumb" question , and an answer probably available somewhere ..
Assume no Backlight Tester or exposed Strips , PSU has V/A Outputs Table.
This transforms the question to :
How to Test the Driver in uncovered TV ?
Thx

Re: Toshiba 65S2650EV 65" TV What in your opinion the issue is ?
OK. So you say it is a side COF. I assume you mean the bonding, or cracked edge, not the plastic itself. And since we did work on Side Cofs, you think there is a small chance, but a chance nonetheless, it has been there before.
But how do you explain the blipping AREA ? which at one image is lower quarter and in another half the screen ? the cause is at a high point, near the board ?...
