    Unknown LCD TV

Found this TV last week that I've never heard of before, brought home since panel would also be nice as PC monitor 'for the wife', anyways it runs on a
12V external power supply that did not come with the TV but I have a few around the house.
So the problem here I believe is the inverter as the TV comes on with menu for about 3 seconds and then shuts down, the standby light remains green.
I tested the back lights with another PSU/inverter and it seems they are working, I might utilize this panel with another PC video card but it seems the harness to the T-con socket will require a relocation of some wires as the PC desktop did not show only colors, red to green as if it was calibrating?
I changed out one cap C13 which was reading fairly low as you can probably see in the pic 'sh*t' soldering but no change in operation, the ceramic caps
C1 & C2 near the transformers also have an odd reading 6.5 Ohms both ways, is this normal?

C5 and C6 could cause this fault. Looks like something got quite hot around there.

The 2 resistors next to these caps also read 6,6 Ohms both ways!

        Maybe they're in parallel?

Change all the electrolytics... Two on the inverter and three on the logic...

You'll also need to re-cap the brick... If you can't pry it apart, use a dremel. Don't cut too deep though.

Yes I agree with re-capping of the boards but as for the brick I don't have it!
I believe its 5A-12v and I think I will try to install a internal PSU as I don't have 5A bricks.

My best alternative here might be to utilize the PSU - Video card that is working https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16712

I hooked up the other video board with its PSU which tested fine on the back light test but with video hooked up same scenario, shuts down within 3 seconds and led remains green! I did move 1 ground wire to match the original harness and I could see the desk top on boot etc.
I'm suspecting that this could also be a T-con related problem now??

After reading a post and Retiredcaps thread I remembered that one side of my panel had delayed on start up and what I'm seeing now is one of the ccfl wires heat shrink has almost fallen off its connecting tube! Will split the panel tomorrow when theres better light.
How are these wires connected to the lamps, are they soldered??

Yeah. There's a metal pin coming out at the end of the CCFL tube, and the wire is usually wrapped around that pin and then soldered onto it.

The tricky part is if the end of the CCFL is enclosed in some sort of rubber block / endcap, which can be a bit of a pain to cut open without destroying the whole thing.

yesterday i had success in rewiring a pair of upper ccfls. it was a no name italian monitor too, just like yours. and from my experience (tiny comparing to some gurus in this forum) all cheapo brands suffer from bad wiring. had more than 20 cases just like this because where i live cheapo brands are very common. all have same components and parts and different strange names.

Well done with the wiring! My panel is OK no busted wires or shorts, tested the lamps and they work perfectly, the panel is a http://www.digitalview.com and is well made, the video/TV board and inverter are a pos.
I'm in the process of changing the caps that I bought today but I don't think the caps are the solution I think there could be a problem with MP1410 2A Step Down DC to DC Converter, I will know more after fitting the caps!

Check D1 on the inverter board (located above J5 in the first picture). It looks like its plastic case has melted.

Well as I mentioned before the readings on MP1410 were just the same after recapping most of board with 12V, that led me back to the PSU question?? Tried 5 different bricks all 12V and no ways would it start then as a last alternative I rigged it up to my test computer's PSU and bingo the panel works great. I manage to fined a manual and will look for another brick or mounted PSU tomorrow so suspend will work.
Thanks for all the feed back.

One brick was rated for 6A but the voltage was higher than 12V around 12.7V the suspend light would come on but no amber to green, the 2A would start it up but the inverter would shut down, strangely the Hannstar PSU would run the CCFL's but the video card was not supported and would also shut down.
The stripping of the panel was worth it as there was a lot dust and soot, they must of had this tv next to a fire place!

Yep I used oven degrease to clean out chassis and isopropolyn to clean the boards, I wouldn't have thought ash could get inside a panel though, this makes me think about my 50" which is in the same room as the pellet heater, lots of fine dust so might blow it out with compressor this summer.

I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

I have a tripp-lite aspint 3636vr inverter charger which blow some of mosfet transistors. I replaced them repaired also the driver circuit and tested but the mosfets burn again.

It work very well as inverter and also as charger if I let the rear switch in auto mode (inverter) and charger only(charging) but in auto when I connect the feed line 220V AC first time it pass ok to line and start charging the batteries but when I remove the feed line it pass to inverter mode and if I do it again the second time when passing from charging to inverter the Main transformer start making a...

For some reason I'm just not going to let this 19" TV defeat me. I guess because I have a schematic to work from I feel like I'm oh so close.

History- while adding a turn-on circuit I let a small screw roll under the power board. Worked through all of that circuitry, probably replacing a MOSFET and PWM controller that were not bad but I was following the service manual. Finally figured out that the power supply is in working order when the inverter section (for the backlights) is disconnected. When the +12 supply to the inverter is disconnected the +12 and +5 will come up...

A modified sine wave inverter + a grid tie inverter?

If I had a solar fed grid tie inverter (GTI), a modified sine wave inverter, and a power outage occurred, what would happen if you disconnected mains, backfed the modified sinewave inverter (MSI) into house power, and hooked up the GTI to the output of the MSI, would it work?

Next thing is trying to charge the batteries using solar power, but that's another issue ...
