Hi guys
ive got spectre 15 with WLAN module soldered
in the windows device manager the device gave error 10 code.
It is a common complain, user has to shipped the laptop back to HP for service since its a hardware problem. disabling reenabling or reinstall driver didnt help
Can i easily order new WLAN module of the same model (Ax201),
unsolder the damaged one, then solder new one onto the board ?
Is there any ROM programming involved ?

First tnks for pointing that out but I had checked that datashet before I posted here
The capacitor is connected to the 5th pin of the IC
On the 95859 datasheet each side has 10 pins
Pin 6 to 10 deal with current sensing, the processor itself has resistance for 40 to 140 ohms, so for 95869 it is very likely the 5th does anything but related to current sensing

The enable pin is fine with such a high resistance. There is no short here.

Hi guys
With USB c plugged in 19v 0.02 amps only.
Vsys is around 16v, 5v and 3v present on CPU regulator ic isl95869, pch supply ic rt6543a, mxic bios ic, and 3v on power switch. But on pressing power button there is no response. Also battery not charging, no voltage on battery.
No 1.8v / 1.0v PCH rt6543 en is pulled 10ohm to gnd when there is pwr
no CPU vcore

Looks like I knocked some component off board while desolderig. Now it would not turn on nor showing charge lamp even After restoring original bios. No short on board, 3.3v present on bios vcc pin
Does anybody happen to have close up picture surrounding bios chip ?

The first video link you shared it looks like thunderbolt ic to me
About spi device I don't have ft232 only ch341a that I believe can be used as spi bridge
Can it be accessed from windows through internal i2c bus ?
I have another idea, would a bios update force sio ic to also write firmware in TPS ?

Measurements are taken following your direction. For ohm black to ground red to cc, for diode the other way around.
Port 1
Cc A5 0.3v 5.8 MOhm
Cc B5 0.5v 500 ohm
Port 2
Cc A5 0.6v 1.2 MOhm
Cc B5 0.6v 5.7MOhm
The thing is I have another board with shorted TPS IC so I really need to find a replacement
