Re: 52" philips tv
No learning needed, you need to look for surface mounted fuses on the board and use the DC voltmeter, black probe on the chassis, red probe on either end of the fuse, tell us what you read. Take a good close up of the board also and attach the file to the post.Never stop learning

Re: 52" philips tv
Did you find/check fuses as budm suggested
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

It will be useful if you can say what the supposed fault was and a bit about yourself - skills tools etc. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: 52" philips tv
I suspect you may have multiple problems. I have been working on the same kind of set and here is my $.02. Replaced the main/SSB with one from ShopJimmy (real good place to deal with, BTW) and ended up replacing the power supply too. Came up for a very short time, then dead again. With an assist from a local TV guy that has been the business for a while, tracked it to the T-Con. After looking for a couple of weeks, a T-Con popped up at DiscountTVParts.Com. With all three boards replaced it works. It won't work with the old main board. Did not try it with the old power supply. Not sure the power supply needed to be replaced (all the caps looked pretty much OK and it checked out. But the PS was cheap and now I know it is good...)Comment

Why are you looking for one.
Presumably you have the old one - is it attached permanently or not. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: 52" philips tv
very HIGHLY unlikely that the t con is panel attached, definatley not on a 52",you will only see them on 19" and lower panels, possibly 22"-24".
troubleshoot the one you have.
very likely a t con fuse underated for the amp draw of the tv,they fail sometimes of there own accord.
check all fuses
if found blown, ohm out the fuse pads if very high resistance then likely a new fuse will bring t con to life againfixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Re: 52" philips tv
This the same TV we've been talking about here:

T-Con is not attached to panel just cannot find one.
Nobody has been able to determine whether that XD component is the fuse or not...Comment

Re: 52" philips tv
I worked with this TV for awhile.
The guy on ebay has a TV repair shop and he's replacing the 2 main IC's on the top of the board with the gray heat sponge and that would be a very difficult job...
One came available today on ebay and sold for $120. They come around every now and then.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by tuner2000ihello everyone,
I don't normally do tv repairs but this is a case with my personal TV which got fried together with many other electronics in my house after a thunderstorm.
The TV is a Philips 65PUS8518/12 which had no power. I measured and concluded that the main board was probably fried through ethernet or hdmi. I found a board with same number 715GD328-M0F-B00-005Y (I had G) but from a 55PUS8518. The TV starts but the image is doubled, distorted. I need to set the panel code which is 016 according to the sticker on the back but I can not seem to do it.

by spantorHello partners.
Could someone tell me how to make this Philips TV source work without the mainboard being connected? The model of the board is EAX65423701 (2.1) and the model of the Philips TV is 40PFH40009/88.
The TV is dead, there is no standby light, however there is a voltage of 12v on the pins ( included 12v VAU ) and 3.2v on the PS-ON pin (see photo) when the power board is connected to the main board. If I disconnect both boards I only get 8 volts on 12v pins. I would like to rule out a fault in the main board by making it work, but so far no one has been able to tell... -
by silikon77Hi!
Got an 70 inch Philips tv model 70pus7855/12 from scraps and I decidet to give it a go. I'm an enthusiast but no porfessional in the electronics.
Found some advices watching youtube nad came up with this:
It came with no picture, after diagnosing it I found out that the right side of the T.con board was faulty.
I taped down the clock signals and I got a picture but the left side of the panel has less pronounced colours. Only the right 3rd side of the panel has good colors.
See attached picture.
I tried a few combinations to block individual clock...1 Photo01-02-2025, 02:26 PM - Loading...
