Thanks...I tested the strips before install and they all worked, so as we in America would say: I assume they are good.. So now I need to figure out, per your advice, how to test the backlight circuit that you mention.

I am a novice to this, although I have experience in computer repair. I am also reading a Sony Training Manual: AZ1L Direct View LCD Television Chassis Course: CTV for ideas,

      Re: Sony KDL-46EX700

6 blinks was not bad LEDs for my Sony. It's bad power board. I tested all lights before removing and they all worked. I replaced anyways because of comments stating it's bad LEDs. New LEDs all worked and still 6 blinks. It states power board for my TV. My TV had 2 power boards. I would look more closely at that because this advice led me astray also.

Says most likely power board or panel. Then says replace main board. This is for 900f though so I'd look into that. The new problem you have well I don't know. Just do due diligence into PSU checking

A normal backlight tester is not good enough to test leds with small leakage, if you think i'm saying stupid things i don't know what to do, if you want my help you can simply follow my advices, testing a psb is not as easy as my test.. anyway if you know the ohm's law and you are rich in power resistors arsenal you can put some and simulate the leds, hoping you have psb specs

I appreciate your assistance, I DO NOT THINK you are saying stupid things, never said that or inferred it!

I'm very handy, but know little about the actual fine testing methods you describe.

            Thanks

So new used board is in and all works, except I messed up one of the LVDS cables that connects the TCON to the screen. Any ideas where I can get? Do I need a Sony or can this type flex cable be gotten (and made) from any electronics store?

Should be a number on your cable, put that in search, maybe try ebay.

So it's a lvds cable that goes from tcon to mainboard NOT tcon to panel driver board, probably best to get a replacement, not sure what models are interchangeable.

I am having the same issue as this guy: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=65126 and following his method,
I have removed the right bottom ribbon cable and the tv starts but the picture showing but not very clear and good, I attached a pic.

Can anyone point me to the next step I should take? thanks!...

                                            Good Day.

i downloaded firmware from sony and there is no .pkg fike.. after extracting it gives another file which contains multiple files like inf, payload.bin and 3, 4 other files. i just did that usb but did not worked. anyone knows anything how to do it..?

green amber blinking stops after while and then starts again. tv responds to remote control on off etc. before installing new tcon backlite was coming on without backlite...

Before I pull all the electronics off and checking the individual strips, there is a on the power board, a harness with 4 wires that run thru the panel, which are what I believe are the LED lines, but Im not a tech so no clue. Wires read OUT 1 + & - and OUT 2 + & - My first inclination was to remove the power board and use my LED tester and go to each + &...

I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.
