TV is now repaired. Was able to source an aftermarket cable from an eBay seller in China and the used board from here in the states.

So new used board is in and all works, except I messed up one of the LVDS cables that connects the TCON to the screen. Any ideas where I can get? Do I need a Sony or can this type flex cable be gotten (and made) from any electronics store?Leave a comment:

Thanks...I tested the strips before install and they all worked, so as we in America would say: I assume they are good.. [B]So now I need to figure out, per your advice, how to test the backlight circuit that you mention[/B].

Warmed the board, no change. Turn power switch to ECO, hear relay click, push power button: Green light comes on, Sony logo briefly appears and goes away. Cycles once again, then red light on front comes on, then blinks 6 times.Leave a comment:

Not sure I follow what you are saying but for clarification on my end all 4 complete strips have been replaced. Also, in the meantime after acquiring an LED tester, I have checked the original 4 strips that I removed, and the all power on completely.
SO is this telling me that my efforts to replace the leds strips, were wrong to begin with?...Leave a comment:

SO I had a bad flex cable connection. The screen is normal again, but TV still turns on then quickly off. I am seeing some kits on ebay that have transistors and resistor that claim should fix this kind of issue. Or I can buy a used power board with 30 day warranty shipped for less than 50.00 bucks.
