    subaru keyfob P9501_7

So this came into the workshop the other day, apparently savaged by pet dog. what appears to be an unmarked ceramic induction has been broken from the pcb see pics. The device appears to have 3 turns of copper wire on what seems to be a ceramic substrate, any thoughts on what I could replace this with.

Can't you hold the original in place with a dab of glue and solder the broken wire ?

I am not sure I have anything that will measure inductance's that small, I will probably try replacing the wire on the device re attach then glue. My other option would be to use a capacitor and resistor with function generator and scope to work out the inductance, not sure how accurate this will be for small inductance's either.

so long as wire correct gauge and correct length i bet it wont be far out

well it has a variable capacitor, so if it's close you can tune it.

if all else fails, you can find another fob and clone the code in the eeprom.
