Not so much test hardware but test software, but this seems the correct section to post the question

What can I use to test the VRAM chips on a graphics card?

In particular does anyone know what this test software is (at 9 mins 35 secs)? I think that is linux based, which is cool as I can boot ubuntu or similar from USB

Also can someone explain how a GPU can still generate an image on screen with all the Video RAM removed? See same video from 5 mins 30 secs.

i use occt to test the overclock of the vram of my video card. occt has a gpu memtest function but it requires a cuda-capable gpu and only works on nvidia gpus. so the gpu also has to be a dx10 compatible gpu or later. it wont work on dx9 gpus or earlier since they arent cuda capable.

GPU internal cache (RAM).
For very low image data (low color count, "still" image, low resolution, ...) it's enough to display readable information.

Just Downloaded all the files. The 1st 2 are around 1.3GB each. 3rd file is VERY large at 33GB.

The third rar file fails to download (not sure how far in, probably somewhere after 20Gb). Does anyone have a working copy of that file or know where to download? I will try on another PC later today just in case this one is acting up somehow

Also make sure to use a program like Jdownoader2 instead of the web browser to download (especially on wifi). All browsers have RAM checks that can stall large downloads if they take over 20 mins or so.

Jdownloader2 (or similar program) can pause, resume and such from Google Drive.

I got it using Firefox web browser on my home internet, first attempt - 31.6Gb took about 25-30 mins
