Hello, I saw that you are an expert in video cards, I have an asus rx6600 8gb in my hands that went out and no longer gives any signs of life, not even the fans are spinning. Do you have any ideas on what to do?

yes you can change it, I failed mine because i lifted the chip along with its trace pad. you can click the link below 990fx failed southbridge in my signature...

Re: Zotac gtx-750ti 2gb vcore short
Thank you for the input i think that this GPU uses the same mosfets a 660ti that i have here, i guess i will start with removing and checking them one by one, at least we will have a better idea of what it is that is causing the short....

Re: Sapphire HD7850 1G artifacts
In my experiences, this kind of thing happens when there is a problem with the RAM, not the ram chips necessarily but it could be the power circuits for them or the BGA connection between the chip and the PCB. I would first check to make sure that there isnt any physical damage or missing resistors on the back of the card.
if all of the chips are getting their power supply around 1.5v then it could be a possibility of broken solder joints on the BGA or faulty chips. in which case you would see if there is any kind...

Re: Zotac gtx-750ti 2gb vcore short
Thank you for the input Rich, I there are only 2 phases on this card so i could probably desolder all 6 mosfets to check if the short is gone it should isolate the power circuit from the GPU. Im thinking its most likely to be a faulty mosfet and driver shorting drain to source...

Zotac gtx-750ti 2gb vcore short
Dear Members,
I would like some of you to share your experience with Vcore shorts to determine whether or not this card is salvageable.
We have a 750ti here with a vcore short, it does not have an external atx power connected on this model so i can only assume that it is a 75w max from the pcie slot only.
On the 12v rail there is a dead short, almost 0 ohms, i voltage injected it to confirm and yes whatever voltage you put into it is what is being directly fed to the GPU.
Do you think that this GPU could still be operational if i repair...

Re: bitlocker password
Is it encrypted? if not you can try to use a hdd data recovery tool to try and pull important files, videos, pictures, old recordings off of it.

Re: GIGABYTE RX-560 4GB OC unresponsive
UPDATE:
So after going through the drive file that Pelolu posted i realised that i needed a dedicated computer just to run it, So I built myself a testing computer using a z77 board and a 2500k processor, i chose this setup because its the computer that i have with integrated graphics in the CPU which will allow me to test the GPU without having to depend on it for graphical output.
So now i have this setup it was not detecting the GPU because i am using a PC case from the old Pentium days and the pci portion...

Re: ASUS STRIX RX570 4GB - CODE 43 Error
Thank you very much, this is very handy info, I am in the process of creating a GPU test computer, the AMDTEST file is massive and its hard on my HDDS.
I think that this might be the case with a few of my cards, because it has had a hard past life as a mining GPU I would not be surprised if one of the memory dram chips are faulty....

Re: Gigabyte Gtx 970 not detected
I hate risers, I was using one for my EGPU setup for my old Gen 1 I7 laptop with a 660ti 2GBReference, one day i was doing some light 3d cad work on fusion 360 and it suddenly froze up and i heard a crackle and smokes, the GPU since then has no memory power rail anymore. Replaced all the mosfets and controller and it still doesnt work.

How to find the Correct GPU BIOS
I find myself getting stuck at this stage and is easily the most frustrating part of a repair exercise, after repairing a GPU its hard to tell whether the BIOS is not correct or if the card has a faulty GPU CHIP?
Is there a way to tell which is the correct bios without having to rely on being able to pull an original BIOS from a card? for example Mining cards with bios flashed?
Perhaps a way to match up by using a serial number?
Because Ive had times where Ive flashed a bios for the same brand, model, edition and ram chip brand, but still wont work?...

Re: Problem flashing graphic card bios with spi programmer
My guess is that you probably didnt run a detect on the chip before pulling the oil bios? For example you could specify the chip to be a 512kb chip and it will just read and copy the 256k over twice.
You should confirm the size of the chip, then find the right bios for it.

Re: ASUS STRIX RX570 4GB - CODE 43 Error
Photos of the cards, mostly identical except the ram chips vary some are SK HYNIX and others are ELPIDA, ALSO some dont have RGB for the fan body....

ASUS STRIX RX570 4GB - CODE 43 Error
Dear All,
I have an interesting one today, I have got a batch of old mining cards which are in for repair.
Card 1: No power to all rails, opened up and saw that the GPU chip has been popcorned. Someone had hit it with their chinese hot air station and popped ettt (NEW GPU CHIP and POWER WORK)
Card 2: All power rails are present, the corner of the GPU die is chipped. This is probably no good too. (NEW GPU CHIP)
Card 3: Looked good booted up with bios and windows safe mode works great. but would crash out when windows loaded up, Ive tested...

Re: help me fix RX570
yes i repaired my GTX 750ti in this manner, except it was the back of the card where someone had knocked off a couple VRAM supply resistors, after fixing that the card was fine....Last edited by taxxin; 07-24-2021, 12:14 AM.
