MSI GTX 970 Golden Edition phase restore problem
Hi everyone,
I have the weirdest problem of a core phase restoring. I have replaced the doubler, driver and the drmos and checked all the resistors around the main inductor but still there is no switching on that phase. I even swapped these phase with another but still no go. I checked around the voltage regulator ncp81174 but could not find a culprit. i have board scheme but that did not help either. got oscillator and everything but it drives me crazy.
Has anyone observed such a behavior before ? I am out of ideas. any help would be appreciated. i will post some... -

problem solved. turns out a bios issue. gigabyte had released a 2019 bios as fw01, tdp is increased and no more problems what so ever. performance also jumped %8.Leave a comment:

Hey guys,
This is weird because i have 2 gigabyte rx 570 gaming and they behave the same. i am connecting it to an lg tv 4K with hdmi. I already disabled onboardgpu in bios. I also observed when i disable gpu under devices , it hangs on black screen. same during installation of drivers. what do you think causing this problem?

AMD HD 6990 old beast very low 3.3 V resistance
Hi guys,
i have a hd 6990 which has 2 gpus in a pcb. the odd thing is the card works but 3.3V line has various resistance readings. mostly 0.7 ohm and sometimes i read 1 kohm. both cases the card runs just fine but 3.3 V line becomes very hot due to low resistance,i guess. especially dc to dc buck convertor on the riser. it reaches 95 C degrees in 5 minutes. a good working card makes it run at 45 C degrees usually. what should be my next move ? inject voltage from 3.3 V to see what is causing extra heat and check with thermal cam ?
any suggestions will be appreciated.... -

you are right. flashed it with ezp2019 programmer and it works again. it allows me to choose .cap and flashed without extracting body. such a nice feature

0.7 ohms is not low for that gpus. had rx4x0 and rx5x0 working gpus 0.7 ohms to 1 ohms.Leave a comment:

Unfortunately, bios was replaced before me and cannot dump an empty chip
