    Wrong ccfl lamp frame

    Hello,
I ordered some lamps from internet but the frame that has the lamps is bigger.
Is there anyway to cut the frame without hurting the lamps. Or anyway to fit those in the monitor(maybe I am doing something wrong)

I'd swap the lamps themselves in their frames. Just be careful. These 3mm glass tubes are extremely fragile.

I am trying to avoid swap the lamps because I broke 4 lamps in the past.

IMO removing the lamp is easier than say cutting the metal frame with tin snips. Hard to tell from your picture if the tubes are potted in or just placed there on some double sticky tape. If the latter then it should be fairly easy to remove them by gently heating up the metal frame with a heat gun. I use this awesome precision heat gun for everything from peeling off stickers and scotch tape to heat shrinking insulation tubing to even desoldering IC chips from printed boards:

Off topic: which program do you use to insert callouts into jpegs? I'd rather not build pdf documents for this purpose if there is a simpler alternative.

I finally swap the lamps but now my screen has blue light in a part of it at the begiining and then it kind of fadi and then a white box go up and down ( I think it's the no signal box).
Does anyone knows what could be that?

It's a Milwaukee 1400 heat gun. There are plenty of them on ebay at any given time.

Yeh - I had not come across it either

                          definition for callout
                          Explanation:
callout - A pointer, verbal or graphical or both, to a component of an illustration or a text object.

I think this applies to both UK and US English

                          Hmm UK English ?????

It means the label put on the picture - I usually fumble something using Paint
but I am sure there are better programs

                            the best is GIMP
                            http://www.gimp.org/

and i think the english would be "highlighting"

Agree. I've had my eyes on Leister heat guns for quite some time now but just couldn't justify the expense. With the one in your link @ only 42 bux I might give it a try. I like the tightly focused heat source and the temperature regulator is nice to have. Need to find the ~120v version though...

No, highlights and callouts are not the same thing.

I use callouts extensively in my posts like for example here. For that I have to resort to creating pdf documents which are time consuming create and clumsy to open. I tried making callouts in graphic editors like for example FastStone but they would come out blurred. The callout in the OP looks sharp and crisp, that's why I asked the OP which program he used.

Can you explain the problem with the cable? There was someone else who mentioned their monitor backlight showing Blue, I wonder if their problem is the same as yours.
