Hello everyone and first of all sorry for my english! I have the lg monitor above with smps adapter and suddenly when i opened the monitor and appeared the lg logo came two white lines from left to the right. When the windows started i saw that the monitor has broplem and the picture is roil. I first prevented replace all electrolytic capacitors of smps adapter (there wasn't defectives) and i check with multimeter the adapter and is ok. The voltages in regulator is 1,8V and 4V. Here are some photos! Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
Hi - is the problem in picture 3 the same as the original problem?
Was the monitor in use by you before it went wrong.
Do you still get the 2 white lines when first on or have you fixed that?
When you tried on another pc did you use a different vga cable?
The picture suggests a faulty panel or the cable between the panel
and the main/logic board.
If it is a flat ribbon cable at the panel end, try cleaning the connectors
and reseating it.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Yes, the broblem is tha same as the picture 3, i took a picture of the screen. The monitor was in use and suddenly the screen blurred. I restarted my pc and saw the white lines and from then the screen it is as the picture 3. No i didn't fixed the 2 lines, i still get it. Yes i tried with other vga cable but i didn't try with hdmi. I cleaned the connectors of the cable with toothbrush but the broblem remains..Last edited by vagos_89; 06-09-2014, 07:37 AM.

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
I also tried with a different flat ribbon cable from αnother lg panel and nothing.. I believe that it isn't vga or hdmi or pc broblem because the screen is like picture 3 without signal cable connect. (I have the monitor only with power cable, show me the message "checκ signal cable" and the sreen is like picture 3)

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
Hi can only suggest you try with hdmi and dvi.
Post a picture of an all white screen and all black one someone may
recognise the problem.
There are other voltage regulators on that main/logic board have you tested them all. Is 1.8v and 4v correct? 4 is an unusual voltage to see.
EDIT
If you unplug the lvds cable do you get a white screen without any coloured lines?
I am trying to find out if it is a faulty panel.Last edited by selldoor; 06-10-2014, 02:47 AM.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
regulator voltage is 1.8 and 4 ??
Is that the voltages on two different pins of the one large regulator or the voltages on two separate regulators ?
what is that regulator part number
and
it looks like there might be a smaller regulator on the other side of the blue resistor, what is that one

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
Ok i'll try with hdmi ani dvi cable. The first picture is with unplug lvds cable( i get white screen without lines). The second picture is without signal cable ane i have blurry screen and line. I can detect two regulators, the first which is in red cycle is AZ1086S and i have: pin1->0V, pin2->1,8V, pin3->5,06V. The second which is in yellow cycle is EH16A 920N61(i can't find datasheet) and i have: pin1->0V, pin2->3,3V, pin3->5,1V.

Try heating up that main/scaler board with hair dryer for a few minutes to see if it will change the symptom.Never stop learning

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
Those voltage regulators seem ok
Perhaps read this thread:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20909
It is a different set but had a similar problem to yours which seemed to be
on the tcon/panel board.
Perhaps put up pictures of that - there maybe voltage regulator to test or may
have voltage test points. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

If not it is an adjustable one and if so may be faulty. On an adjustable the
voltage difference should be 1.25 not 1.05. maybe that is enough to cause the problem - perhaps budm will advise better.
Any electrolytics on that board? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Your readings now are a little different than last time.
pin2->3,45V, pin3->4,8V
pin2->3,6V and pin3->4,65V
Are your tester batteries good ?

I have seen voltage regulators on main boards cause picture some issues
so there is a chance that this is the part that might be causing the static.

Re: lg flatron w2286L problem
Pictures are not really clear enough are there any test points for the 5 volts?
That should be coming from the main board so is there a 5v testpoint on or near the
socket on the main boardPlease upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair
