    Re: lg flatron w2286L problem

I tried to take better pictures. In the point of 5V i have 4,75V. It would be useful to take and write the measurements of test points like VCC, VDD, VGL,VGH etc?? Thanks

      Re: lg flatron w2286L problem

      You could try changing it
Just be careful in this area and near the ribbons

TO selldoor: he had 5.1 on two voltage regulators on the main board
      (post 8)

      Posts crossed -
Try checking the 5v before it gets into the ribbon on the main board side.. you might be losing some via ribbon contacts

Yes I know, that is why I was asking him to look for a testpoint near the
socket on the mainboard and on the panel board to see if 5v is leaving the
main board and getting to the panel board, which you have now repeated.

He could also try testing on the actual socket pins - its usually the end 1 or 2 that carry the 5v , but if he slips it can do more damage than good.

@vagos_89 You could take the measurements at the other test points you mention but I am not sure how many regular members we have who can interpret the results.

          Re: lg flatron w2286L problem

Had another look at the pics there is a VIN test point near the socket so that is where you need to test for 5v - looks like there is a fuse so you could test each side of that.
Looks like the end 4 pins on the socket carry the 5v If you see that also then it would be safe to test as you are unlikely to slip across 4 pins . Hope you are being careful anyway as the connections to the panel can easily be damaged.

            Re: lg flatron w2286L problem

there is a vin pin on the t-con side
but I do not see one on the main side
            and
It is 3 pins !! Do not use the last pin on the t-con side (that connector on the t-con has an extra pin on each end)

              Re: lg flatron w2286L problem

I'll leave for the moment the other measurements. 5V is leaving the mainboard of the 3 last pins(5,1V for accuracy) also i have 5,1V in the edge of lvds cable. When i plug the lvds to the tcon board i have 4,8V in the 3 last pins of mainboard and also 4,8V have to the 3 last pins of tcon board connector(i don't use tha last pin of the connector as you told me, there i have 0V). I guess this is a problem. Should not i have 5,1V after the connection of lvds to the tcon?
Also 4,8V i have to VIN point and each side of the fuse.
              Thank you both!

Sory but i don't understand "when the unit is power on and of" Do you mean when i plug and i unplug the lvds to tcon or when i power on and of the power button of tha monitor? I think is the second but i want to make sure.

I suggest he means when it is plugged in but not switched on
Then test again when it is switched on.
As we are troubleshooting the lvds I would also test it with the panel connected and also without. If in doubt cover all bases - cant do too many tests

The part number is 06N10-225L AD T95B. Switched off and panel not connected: gain->0V, drain(tub)->12,22V, source->0V. Switched off and panel connected the measurments are same. Now switched on and panel not connected: gain->0V,drain->12,19V, source->0V and and switched on and panel connected: gain->3,027V, drain->11,8V, source->35mV

the 12v isn't dropping too bad.

is the power supply a 12 or a 19V (I saw one place that said it was 19 ??)
                        is it the original
is it a mini size or decent size like some laptops use ?

That 3.3 voltage regulator on the tcon running high output may be what is draining the 5 volts down, but I am trying to cover all the bases before trying surgery

The power supply is 12V 3A. Yes is the original. As i said in previous post the 5V leaving the mainboard of the 3 last pins and reaches in the edge of lvds. When i plug the lvds to tcon this voltage reduced. This mean that the broblem is in tcon board?

                            ok
seems like that supply should be ok
Those small ones tends to not have enough amps

A voltage drop is not uncommon when something is added into a circuit, I just do not know how much this exact system should drop.

I guess that trying the voltage regulator would be the next thing.
In case you can not find the original richtek That is a positive fixed 3.3volt 1 amp sot-223
Looking at it with the tab on the left. the input is on top output in the center and ground on the bottom pin. The large tab and center pin are together

If it comes out in tact, it can be checked with a 9 volt battery by hooking the battery to the input and ground and then checking the center pin. These have a 15 volt max on the input so you could also use the 12 volt supply

                                Hello to all,

I have a problem with monitor that is delivered together with CCTV system.
The monitor appears to be completely dead, there is no LED power diode and it doesn't react to pressed power button.

I have disconnect display and check many components on the power supply part of the board. There is no anything obvious and monitor is about 3 years old. There are no bulged caps. When measuring voltages on the output connector to VGA board I can measure stable 14.5 V on 12V pins and stable 5.07V on 5V pins. So I assumed that this part of the board is OK....

I have an intermittent display problem with my monitor, when I plug in the HDMI cable to my (or any) laptop, you see the connection screen shrink on the laptop as it usually would before displaying on the monitor but 95% of the time the monitor display stays black.

Before it cut out all together, tapping the monitor control button a fair few times would make the screen display, and everything work fine.

But now it never does it. Not sure what's going on, hoping someone can help. I'm capable of stripping the thing down and soldering in new parts if needed, or programming...

I'm new to this awesome forum, and have been reading like mad, but have not seen the answer to my challenge.

We bought this Panasonic plasma monitor 16 years ago and it has never been serviced, so all parts are original, and the unit has never malfunctioned -- until about a month ago. The system fails to power on. At first (a month ago) this happened rarely. We learned to unplug for a few minutes to drain the caps, then re-plug, and the monitor would start normally. Now, we plug-in, turn on the main power switch, and the...
