Farfalla Induction Cooker FEC-20SD6 Error E6

    Dear all,

I have an induction cooker FEC-20SD6, when turned on showing error E6 which is 'internal temperature is too high' according to the user manual. I am trying to fix the problem but in vain. Hope can get some advice on how to fix it

    Thanks in advance

    Dear all,

Attached are pictures for the induction cooker. I am trying to locate temperature sensor on the PCB, but in vain. I know there is one at the center of the coil. Anyone knows which component on the PCB acts as temperature sensor?

    Thanks in advance

Probably a shorted thermal sensor. (If it's the usual sensor type used)

        Dear RJARRRPCGP,

        Thanks for reply.
That's what I suspect, but unable to find the thermal sensor on the PCB. Don't know which one is thermal sensor

            Dear budm,

            Thanks for reply.

Initially, I suspected a capacitor was the problem, so I unsoldered the capacitor to do a testing on it. But it seems to be ok. Later I soldered it back and it looked like the electrical connection was damaged, so I soldered a wire across the connection

ok, its not on the front panel. there are 3 wires going to the coil, two big ones and a small one with two or three individual conductors?

                    Dear goontron,

                    I got what you mean.
Attached are the pictures. The small one with 3 conductors are the temperature sensor for the coil.

There are two black wires. I measured the resistance across these wires both ways. The reading is 111.6 Kilo Ohm

111k? thats definitely suspicious, seeming how most thermistors are only 10k. i think thats whats bad.

Yes, it is true that most temperature sensors are in 10K Ohm.
see this site for various type of thermistors:
                        http://www.amwei.com/views.asp?hw_id=61

How do I verify that it is the temperature sensor giving the problem, before I make a purchase?

                        Thanks

looks like the thermistor is OK. they have 110k thermistors, they are just uncommon. if the room was ~27c when measured it is fine. which leads to bad solder or a bad IC.

I have put the main board front and back side by side to make it easier to check the connection. I also tried to start with the IC LM339N to see if what input that has triggered the error E6

                              Is this the right way?

I have a SMEG cooktop with a EGO 72.08041.002 power board. The two left hand side cooktops started to slowly fail, sometimes stopping with an EA error (Power board failure according to the manual) after a couple minutes boiling some water and eventually they completely failed and now get an EA error on both of them at all times. Visual inspection of the board went over ok, I checked the IGBT's and rectifiers and they seem fine, what should I look at next as this is the first time I'm fixing an induction cooker, I'm suspecting capacitors in this case, Which ones should I look...

It works but after a while it give temperature (90d) Error & shuts down till it cools down again. I added new coolant compound & cleaned the Fan & the heat sink fins, but the error stil persists. The schematics is not available anywhere to trace down thermal Protect circuit. I have uploaded the photos of the motherboard, back & front. If someone can take a look & have an idea where will these components be on the motherboard....

                                Hello.
I am troubleshooting a parkside induction cooker. The bord had a microcontroller ic with marking IH001 (dip24) which i think is faulty. Any ideas what this IC is, to purchase internationally? Otherwise there is a VIPer12a which seems working fine. No other defective components were found.
                                Best regards.
