Most of what I have tested so far most of them are testing around 22**milliamperes hours **something there have been a very few that have tested below 2000 milliamperes hours
( and some that tested above 2000 milliamperes hours )
( I have tested about half the first set of 30 that I first bought

I have bought a 100 more of them because of the testing I have done so far I need to fill 3 battery pack holders that take 27 batteries each

Well worth the money

I am going to buy the battery powered air compressor that I will post a link to later I going to build a battery pack for this compressor because the reviews I have seen about it complain about the battery packs not lasting very long

Ok here we go again with the quality of Harbor Freight new lineup of tools that is not all its seem it the quality of the battery pack the batteries are made with some off brand that I seen before I did buy the battery operated compressor which the reviews are good as far as the compressor was concerned but the biggest complaint issue is that the batteries are crap which after opening the battery pack I can understand why

( one note these battery packs are cheaper in price than the other brand lineup that I talked about earlier in this post at lest it used LG brand it might have been the lower end of there brand but the battery pack have good results there is a protection board in the battery pack and the charger does maintain the battery voltage when it goes a little low but does turn off the charging mode when finish )

I going to use the battery pack case to hookup with the battery pack case that I have talked about earlier that uses the 27 batteries and only put 25 batteries in it

The battery charger I have not taken it apart yet but in this case I will open it up and see how this is put together

One thing I have noticed with this battery pack there does not seem to be a battery balancing protection board which is a disconcerting to me that you would make something that does not have a protection board or I can not see any components on top of the board unless it is on the bottom of the board which I can not see until I remove the battery from the battery holder one thing I did see is some type of temperature sensor in between the battery cells which is a plus

( one note I only bought two of the 1.5 amp hour battery packs not the 5 amp hour battery pack that there was not as many complaints about and in all fairness I will buy a 5 amp hour battery pack later on and open it up and see what type batteries are in this battery pack )

I will post the brand of lineup when I have all the information about the batteries and if the batteries have a protection board the information about the battery charger and so on

Just as I thought the BMS balancing protection board is part of the charging board look at the top and bottom of this board I have never seen this before done like this

I like the idea that you can use the battery connector in another case if you want to

I will show more pictures tomorrow about the batteries used I thought I might have seen this brand before but I have not I do not know if I like the idea that they put BMS balancing protection board in as part of the charging controller board hun maybe a good idea maybe not

balancing is only used for charging anyway, protection is most needed for discharge and only minor for charging (charger can handle overcharge).

This might be one reason the cost ( plus the fact that they used non brand name batteries in these battery packs ) of the battery pack are less but the tools cost a little bit more money than the other brand lineup that I mentioned earlier in this post

But because the BMS balancing protection board is part of the charger it going to make the modification to the battery pack that I have in mind a lot easier and the battery pack could also be used in other devices

Well if the tool requires all connections of the battery connected to the tool for it to work (i.e. all interstitial connections), then likely it does do protection.

I really need to get something to accurately measure ampere hours.

So many projects, motivation just not there...

Well they just come out with a hot glue gun which I going to buy to see what this tool has for battery protection the cost of the tool is $19.99 for tool only and $20.00 off if you also buy a battery and charger

The reviews are very good for this tool but a few reviews recommend a 3 to 5 amp hour battery not the 1.5 amp hour battery because it only lasts an hour

If you have been following this post you can monitor BMS balancing protection board with the SkyRc IMAX b6 version 2 battery charger just select battery charging select how many battery cells and hit start

You have to download the software so you can plot the results

One note you do have to watch the screen when you get close 4.1 volts to really see how well the balancing board is responding to voltage between battery cells

But there is a battery type that charges the batteries 4.1 and there a battery type that charges to 4.2 volts

So what I do is use the one that charges to 4.1 do other things and when it finish charging them I switch it to changing it to setting to 4.2 battery voltage then watch it until it finishes charging

Well I have the answer to the question about a protection in the tool it sort of it monitors voltage and temperature of the battery and that it well and good for some applications that might be alright but what I want to do with it this is not going to work I have to buy one of there 3 amp battery pack at least the batteries packs are assembled in China and batteries are made in another country but not Japan unfortunately

As you can see in the picture there are only four connections to the battery pack to the protection board

Because of the way the battery protection board is it monitoring battery voltage not individual battery cells I not going to using there batteries packs for the air compressor that I bought for battery operation I going to modify it to run off of Ryobi 20 volt 12 amp hour battery pack that does have a battery protection board that is part of the battery pack because I have 3 of already

the fact that the bigger packs had more torq is not because of the Ah but because they have parallel sets of cells giving a higher short-circuit current,
also they probably have much better fets on the protection board with a lower on resistance.

Well I have taken apart the air compressor and it does have two battery voltage monitor modules and a dual input module that separates the battery inputs but is not isolated from each other

One module controls the motor which has three wires so I not sure what type of motor it is the other module has the battery wires going to it

One thing I can tell you that when you have the air compressor running on just this one battery and hit the battery fuel gauge it starts with all three lights on and when running it drops to one light on

I am going to run some testing on this battery and find what it can do I think that these batteries are shit

So my plan to have two power supply battery packs is going to work all I have to do now is do testing on a bunch of batteries and get them in battery pack cases and hook them up and put the air compressor case parts back together and do some real world testing

Okay I ran the test on one of the batteries that I took a picture of and the results are

Load 2 amp results = 1484 milliamperes hours @ 3 volt ( so they are close to 1500 milliamperes hours )

Actually not as bad I thought it would be but these batteries are not good for this application not unless you were to use a lot of them together so that the voltage drop under a load would not look as steep

I wonder what the 5 amp hour battery pack that they sell for $69.00 how the battery test would look like when testing one battery

1500mAh is more than good enough for flashlights and USB power banks, and certainly better than some of the crap China will sell you...
