        Re: funny memtest86+ 2.01 report!

If it was a "bad disk" (I'm assuming you mean the CD with memtest86 on it), memtest86 wouldn't have started at all.

Bad board? If it runs fine otherwise, no.

This is just a funny glitch, that's all.

the only thing wrong with the board is that pentium d 3.2 is a mini furnace.
          100% stable now though.
intel used ost on that board.all of them had hatched.
the capxon's in the antec basiq 500 were ready to die too.1.2v of trash on +12 and 800mv on +5.

You can get funny numbers if they didn't add 100% support for your particular chipset. Have seen it before, nothing to worry about as long as the test runs through without problems.

you would think 2.01 would have i965 support.

That is a bit weird.. i965's a bit old nowadays, so i would expect memtest86 to pick it up correctly.. Then again i remember trying to run an old version of memtest86 on an Athlon 64.. Talk about crashy... .

True, very odd for such a common chipset. Who knows, might be BIOS related or something. Anyhow quite funny

The i965 team is right down the aisle from me at this writing...
I haven't looked into the 2.01 source code, but I also would be surprised to see no support for this chipset.

The bug that always annoys hell out of me is the chronic failure of all diagnostics when testing the AMD-761 chipset. Every 761 board I have, all fail. No version of diags will pass them, yet these boards have been running for almost 10 years.

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
                        by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

                        GTX 1060 - MATS Report
                        by Sofian75
This is a gpu I purchased to see if I can repair it (was supposed to be dead), it was working perfectly fine in windows, I even launched the huneven stress test and didn't notice any problem.
Then since I am learning I ran MATS to see if it would find any error.
Could you help me understand the report please?...

mapping of MemTest86 errors to a single chip
                        by rumpumpel1
I would like to receive confirmation that the following considerations are correct:

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T490s (NM-C891) with 16GB RAM (8 chips) soldered on the mainboard.
                        MemTest86 reports the following errors:
                        Lowest Error Address: 0x1F97B0930 (8087MB)
                        Highest Error Address: 0x1FB7B6DB0 (8119MB)

Dividing the 16GB into address ranges per chip I get the following table:
                        #1 0x000000000 - 0x07FFFFFFF
                        #2 0x080000000 - 0x0FFFFFFFF
                        #3 0x100000000 - 0x17FFFFFFF
                        #4 0x180000000 - 0x1FFFFFFFF
                        #5 0x200000000 - 0x27FFFFFFF
                        ...

Dell 5591 overheating in memtest86+ but cool running Linux Mint - What causes this?
                        by honigmann
This machine comes with the i7-8850H, no internal drive and no battery installed, the bottom cover removed, an original Dell power supply is used. I just installed 8GB RAM, ran memtest86+ and noticed a power draw of about 40-50W. Accordingly within minutes the temperature went up to just below 100 degrees with the fan spinning wildly. Same thing when I enter the BIOS (1.20.0), around 40W power draw.

Next thing I tried was an install stick with Linux Mint on it. Initially I am also at around 40W but with idle desktop (Xfce) it draws just 6,5W. Is this a BIOS issue? Version 1.34 is...
