deleting the password as described above, there was not only a message about missing date and time, instead the message that flashed up briefly, was
0177: Bad SVP data, stop POST task.
0271: Check date and time settings.
The solution is very simple. Instead of deleting specific regions in the EC dump, you need to erase the EC. Then disconnect the BIOS battery, shorten the two pins for the BIOS battery on the mainboard, connect the BIOS battery again and then start the mainboard. The EC will be flashed from the BIOS as it is done for almost all ThinkPads. It takes some...

thank you, I forgot to show the second instance starting at 0x003F420.
Do you have some experience with the T14 G5 AMD?
After flashing the EC with the cleaned image and after re-soldering the BIOS chip I have the problem, that the mainboard starts, it shows shortly the message about missing date and time and then it switches off....Leave a comment:

Hello,
I want to delete the SVP from my T14 G5 AMD.
Is this the correct region which needs to be replaced by 0x00?

Since this adapter is now available, this is a simpler solution. But keep in mind, that for instance only the shipping to Germany makes a total (including taxes, all kind of fees) of about 50€.Leave a comment:

If you're feeling adventurous, you can try replacing the PCH.
here https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/par...artslookuptile you can find a replacement board for 80-90€.

I think you can increase the injecting voltage up to 1V. But if you still can't see anything with the thermal imaging camera, things get tricky.
I assume the visual inspection of the board, especially the PCH, didn't reveal anything?Last edited by rumpumpel1; 05-14-2026, 01:45 PM.Leave a comment:

I have used the autopatcher successfully many times in the past, but this time, with a P52s (20LB), I’m having a problem. As usual, I read out the BIOS and patched it using the autopatch script. No error message appeared. After flashing the patched BIOS, the laptop booted up, but after a while an error beep sounded. The Lenovo Diagnostics app identified the beep code as 010225. Google didn’t have much information about this error. To be on the safe side, I swapped the RAM module, but without success. Then, just to be sure, I flashed the original BIOS. The laptop booted up normally, just with...Leave a comment:

T14 Gen 1 AMD (NM-C801): Can someone please tell me which section of the EC dump I need to overwrite with 0x00 to delete a BIOS password?
I suspect the section starts at 0x0003EF00, but I’m not sure how much data I need to overwrite.Leave a comment:

X1 Yoga 4th (NM-B861)) dead
I have a ThinkPad X1 Yoga 4th that won't start. I am testing the bare motherboard without the BIOS battery and comparing the measurements with a working motherboard of the same type.
The RSMRST and PWRSW_EC signals are OK, but the PCH_SLP_S4 signal is missing. Can I conclude from this that the PCH is defective?

Some posts in this forum suggest that the Thunderbolt firmware issue is responsible for the 5V issue described.Leave a comment:

The X280 has two USB-C ports. Do they both behave the same way?
