Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

I run Windows 2003 on my home server, Windows 7 on my main PC and Ubuntu / Android dualboot on my Asus Transformer.
My Asus router runs modified stock firmware called AsusWRT and Debian Squeeze in chroot.
I also have a Raspberry Pi running OpenELEC as my HTPC.

Windows 8 and 8.1 are on my "never even touched them" list. If my school downgrades to them, I'll buy a typewriter or something.

Also, while I do computer repair for people, I'll refuse to work on a computer with Windows 8.

Win7 on my primary desktop and secondary desktop. Win8 on my laptop. Windows Phone on my, well duh, phone.
All my servers run CentOS 6 except one that I can think of that's running Ubuntu Server and one's still on CentOS 5.
My hosting server run CloudLinux but that counts as CentOS 6.

It is an OS, ideally should be invisible to the user. Debian is on my computers and laptops, except for the EEpc which is running Puppy. The Win7 install on the laptop has been used twice, first time to make the install DVD's ( 2 copies) and the second time as I did not have a VM installed and needed to use GOTO meeting in a hurry. Now have a copy of XP installed in Virtualbox for those times that Wine will not do.

I am still on tried and true XP for all of my modern PCs (P4 and later). When my old PCs or their hard drives finally give up the ghost, I will be jumping to Linux in a heartbeat.

I lie, one PC is running Vista.

Don't lie, you just saw Windows 8 and ran away screaming like any sane person would. Anything with the term "Metro" in it has to suck by design, just look at the trains down here in our wonderful city.

                            Win 98, Win XP x32 and Se7en x32/x64.

Last year, after the shock of testing The Horror for ~25 minutes, I began familiarization with various flavours of Linux, as a plan B for the future beyond Se7en in case Microshaft definitely stops making real OSes.

For me, Windows 7 and Arch linux, both x64 when possible.

My two main laptops both have Arch x64 and 7 x64... the newer one (Lenovo Ideapad p400) has Home Premium; the older (A dell latitude D630) has Ultimate and also an install of XP Pro x32 (to run Autocad 2000).

My two main rigs have 7 Ultimate... Both are dual CPU with dual displays. The older (based off Xeon Gallatin) runs x32, the newer (based of Opteron X2 Italy) runs X64.

The reason why is that for most things I do on my desktop 7 works the best... but for some of my college stuff, Arch is better (like having direct CLI C compliling). Also, I prefer linux overall but Gnome shell IMHO doesn't do dual displays very well (but for me at least it's great on single displays). However, 7 is excellent on dual displays...

I use win7 on my main computer. I've used win XP before.

I have used mac and linux before, but not enough, as I still find them hard to use. All the OS's are totally different beasts

Win7, but its the ONLY version of Windows that actually works properly. I have some computers in the house that have NEVER had a single hiccup running Win7 for over 5 years. They're just as fast and safe as day one, unlike every version of Windows before 7 that would gradually slow down and become unusable.

If one doesn't click on anything without knowing first what it is they're clicking on...Windows is fine. I've "repaired" peoples computers over run with virus/malware/etc, and its always because they've clicked, downloaded, allowed the malevolent software by their own actions...If one uses common sense, there's no need even for anti virus software.

I've tried Linux distro's and they're fine, but why bother when Win7 works and is pretty much universal ?

Still on Windows 7 right now. Got them from work for free and my work revolves around tech support for MS Windows issues.

They also just gave me Windows 8 but I'm still on the fence on whether to install them or not.
