    Re: un58tu7000 reboot loop

ok, thats what the testing is for, if you had done that simple test before as suggested, you wouldn't have had to guess, so the test seems to indicate a panel issue, these tests are pretty simple and basic but they need to be done to get a picture of what is wrong, and YES sometimes those symptoms are mainboard issue and sometimes they are panel issue, the last samsung I fixed with these same symptoms was fixed with a new mainboard.

Why are you buying these boards, you have a problem in the panel.

I missed the post saying to try main board to panel, just seen main to power suggestion, my fault....so panel issue is a definate unfixable issue I assume

Disconnect this cable and check again with your original motherboard.

in some cases it can be a faulty component/s on the panel driver boards, another pretty simple test is test the little mlcc capacitors for shorts or very low ohms.

It does same thing with original board in it, I will give the tape method a go here in a bit

So I have been messing with the tape method but the best I can do is get the tv to stay on, has a black screen and I can hear the cursor sound when I hit the arrows on the remote

tmlfan, this specific set ive been messing with it for ages.

you have a bad panel, and taping does not work on it because you are blocking signals on both sides because of the way it's been designed.

So, you need to be able to block signals, but in a different way. You can start by isolating on which side the issue comes from by blocking VGH from going on right, then left side of the tv's pcb to see if it works

Is vgh present on the tv's pcb with the bonded tabs at the test points ?

                        Re: un58tu7000 reboot loop

I have the same issue with the same TV. Managed to isolate two contacts on the ribbon cable that joins the left and right driver boards (see pictures), and get a crappy picture. Wondering if someone knows what signal is on these pins and if there is an area to focus on to improve the picture (lines are acceptable, but the picture right now if really bad).

                        Thanks
