So managed to get to the menu with the info settings mute power buttons. I have attached a photo of the menu, it says failure, does that indicate what the fault is? The factory reset isn't in the main menu but within the first option section, as per photo. Trust me im no expert ive learnt all i know from this site and youtube i repair things as a hobby mainly just for myself and family members. we never stop learning.
i have recenty collected a Samsung UE48H6400AW 3d smart tv of a free site it needs new backlight strips just waiting for delivery from china which has been 3 weeks now if tv is ok after i may keep it myself,Comment

Yes, it can be located under the menu Only in no case should you change the parameters in this service menu, if you don’t know what for what, the changes can turn the TV into a brick (replacing the motherboard) if EMMc is alive, then the reset will go well if bad, then you can hang on the "SAMSUNG" screensaver, then how lucky you are.Comment

so, just tried a few things. I can't use the source button on the remote but can change with the buttons on the screen. But like before no sound and it says its optimising the videoAttached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

not sure if you can re programe the eemc etc on these sets if a replacent mainboard is cheap maybe its worth going down that route will need a picture of your mainboard thats used in your tv plus on the metal tv chassis should be a white sticker with the lcd panel type.Comment

Just tried a fix on the link you shared, one where you reset the apps. That too, no joy. Still getting the same thing. Interestingly I get the SID_No_Signal something and sometimes it displays properly, saying No Signal.Comment

Ok so followed all of those steps but when I click on update now, it doesn't give me the option to use USB? Anyway just thinks a bit and then goes back to the No Signal screen. I check the version and it say 1310. Any idea how else I can update via the USB?Comment

You have correctly formatted (FAT32) and unpacked the files for updating, try other USB flash drives and insert them into other slots.Comment

Basically the owner is a computer shop and they brought it to me with two screens. They said the repair shop they use could not fix it, so I thought i would try to see if I am better than their current repairer!

Hi I am new to this kind of repairs but I want to learn..I have a Samsung UN65JS8500F. the TV used to work and I tried to fix darker areas in the middle only ( img 1,2,3). I thought the led strip were bad..not the case. I did not research in advance what kind and where the LED were located. In this model they are located vertically on right and left side. Took the TV apart and put it back together. Samsung UE55JU6800K with no image on screen.
I have had this TV many years without fault, however aprox 6 months ago I fitted a new set of backlights as some of the lens caps had fallen off.
Was working fine, until 3 days ago, when watching TV the screen just went blank (still illuminated)
I turned the TV off and left it around 12 hours, and when turned it on again it seemed to work perfectly again. After around 45 mins the screen went blank again.
Left it off overnight and turned it on, and the Smart TV logo came on as normal, then screen went blank.

Hi it looks like everything works don't know where to test except the 390v in the 2 capacitor in the hot side of the power supply and the weird 180v in the diodes in the cold side that should be discharged it is writin on the circuit no more you can read what is written on the circuit quite srrange color mixiing yellow and white
anyhow i couldn't t read anything else
the backlight is on strong and the screen does not get dark or very dark but no pictures
the mainborad feels a bit hott on the black part i test it to 52 degree's against 34 to 40 on the rest of it

Hi all,i have this problem and so far I have visually checked the main board and flashed the main board with the files in the first picture. The flash seemed to go ok,first the front red LED flashed quickly and then slowed up before the TV turned itself off and on but it is still the same. I see there are exact matching main boards available but I don't want to commit to that incase it's something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
