Sony KDL-48W605B no picture but sound

hello guys,

today I buy Sony KDL-48W605B for repair

tv turn on ,backlight on but no picture, i click menu sound ok.

I found little fuse on tcon?(see pic) blown. so I solder wire to check if it work,but not working

what do you think?

Replace the T-CON Bd.

this model have t-con glued on panel,so I cant remove it from panel.

Safety has fired because it is a short or very high consumption. Look for a smd capacitor in short or a dc-dc converter with trouble.

Yep, start checking for shorted cap/s on that integrated T-CON board, do not put wire in place of the fuse.

ok guys ,I think I found something

I found 4 caps shorted to ground CD14,CD15,CD16,CD17

but what I see CD14 is cracked?

ok removed cap from board,and now no short on 3 caps to left

now I need to find specifications of cap I removed,I dont have capacitance meter

I have old mainboard from tv, and found same size of cap

I found old t con board from SONY KDL-42W705B ,I will desolder one capacitor same size and check if will turn on with picture.

or it is not good idea

The four capacitors are in parallel. It works with just 3. If not, there are other problems.

tv turn on,no red light but still no picture..hmm

my mistake,I have tv on my bed so I dont see picture till I click menu

ok guys , I have picture without cap that is shorted.

tv is working fine,I will test him for few hours.

anybody know that cap values? or leave it like this?

CD14,CD15,CD16,CD17 are probably all the same value. If you have any way to measure capacitance, then you can remove one of the good capacitors and measure it's value.

Leave that. It also works with 3 parallel capacitors. Do not ruin him worse.

They put in 4 caps for reason, they would have put only three to save money if the fourth one is not needed.
