    Philips 40PFL4908/F7 Dead

Have this set and the customer said it just would not turn on one day. Q601 is shorted, R611 and F602 are open. I do not see anything else as bad. Does anyone know of anything else I should check before replacing these parts?

OOPs, just rechecked and found D653 shorted...same question: Does anyone know of anything else I should check before replacing these parts?

The power supply on this model is probably similar design.

      Re: Philips 40PFL4908/F7 Dead

You will want to check and replace at least the following parts:

      F602 (fuse, 2.5A, 250V),
      Q601 (MOSFET transistor, N-channel, 7A/600V),
      D608 (zener diode, 36V, 1Watt),
R611 (Fusible Resistor, orange, black, silver, gold = 0.3ohm, 5% tolerance, 2 watt),
      D653/D655 (Schottky Diode, SB3A0 = 3A, 100V),
      D607A (zener diode, 27V, 500mW)
      Q602 (2SC5344SY = BJT NPN transistor, 800mA, 30V, SOT-23)

D607A and Q602 are small surface mount parts on bottom of board.

      See attached service manual.

Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
        by Rubenlily
        Hey,

I gave up on my last TV and got a new one to try.

Only vertical lines. Sound is OK. Screen is black with a few white lines until I change channel, then these colors gradually starts filling up the screen.

Is this fixable in any way or should I just give up on this one too?...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
        by double_DD
        Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
        by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

PHILIPS 40PFL7007 TV DEAD. D501 testing SHORT on DMM
        by vikivng
Hi guys pls can someone help with this set..
        Tv doesnt not power on.
        No standby light.
There is a burn mark by the leg of D501 diode.
The diode tests short in both directions.
I have been reading this usually means the diode is faulty? As normally would be open.
I have not yet taken voltages since this is obviously short I would like to replace it.
Can someone help me with a substitute for this diode since it seems not to be the standard type?...
