So just dispose this POS? I've never soldered in my life. Looked easy on YT lol. I just paid $25 for it so I don't care if I will have to throw it away but should I keep it and practice removing SMDs and stuff?

It's not my job this. I just do this for some extra in the pockets and because it's fun. Usually I have easier TV's to work on.

Just takes a little practice, some things really need hot air or a type of tool, looks like your damage IS repairable, best to practice on spare junk boards, you can get a usable hot air station for less than 50 dollars, not to worry, everybody screws it up their first attempts. There's plenty of good videos on youtube for repairing damaged traces, pads etc. Try to approach every repair with the doctor's oath, "first do no harm" Definitely take it slow and pick a day when you have your maximum patience.

Haven't you got some free space to store it until you practice on free boards? In second hand sites there tons of modems and printers for free.. also some cracked screen tv..

Some examples from our ebay, not sure how good the around 18 dollar little ones are, have not tried one but there's plenty to choose from: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...acat=0&_sop=15

Some useful tools for tv repair, you won't need all of them of course, depending on the individual issue but you could tackle a whole lot of problems if you had all of them, the dim bulb testers are easy to make, the few parts needed do not cost much: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzQmanfGs54

Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
              by maneatingmonkey
I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.

Philips 58PUS7805/12 showed no picture; after T-Con replacement, shows halo
              by Rauni
Hello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.

My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)

Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).

Read also that we should test what happens if we...

Philips 243v5lhsb00 Monitor Picture too bright
              by Schwoin
              Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.

Samsung UE70TU7020K Which lines to tape on a bad panel
              by learnmore
              Hello Community,

              I'm working on a Samsung UE70TU7020K.

It looks like a bad panel. There is only 1 FPC cable from the Tcon (built into mainboard) to the panel.

I'm using a piece of tap a few mils (covers about 8-10 pins), at different locations and have had varying results but nothing that is remotely watchable (multiple lines across all the screen, half screen and total black out on screen). The buffer board is divided into 3 boards. I've disconnected the end board one at a time but each time the screen was totally black. I presume it's because the potential...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
              by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

              Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

              First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...
