I have the above mentioned tv, when plugged in the orange Vizio light illuminates but nothing else via remote or power button. I have 5V stqndy on all respective locations on power board, but nothing else. No bl on, no 12v or 18, naturally since nothing is telling it to turn on. I was able to find 3.3v at the power button, and trace it back via a tiny ribbon cable to main board. Soon as it hits main board and comes out the backside of ribbon connector, its gone. It does respond to pressing jog wheel up to that point. I was able to jump the 5v to the bl on pin and at that point had 12v on all respective pins. 18v pins we're a little high around 20.5v. at the led connections at top of power board I was seeing 180v on both connectors. Still no backlights or any signs of life. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Normally with the connector to the Main Bd. disconnected,we would, connect a jumper from standby pin to PS-ON pin and test to see if the 12V, etc came up. Then leaving that 1st jumper in place we would put a 2nd jumper from standby pin to BL-ON pin and see if the backlights come ON. So putting a jumper on from 5V pin to BL-ON pin and getting 12V and 18V doesn't make sense to me.Comment

Re: Vizio XVT3D424SV, orange standby light, no other signs of life
this model vizio have a boot up process, the power LED suppose to flash amber and white, then stop on amber. Then you can power on your TV.
if you are not getting the flashing of the power LED then your main board CPU need to be reball or replace the main boardComment

What I meant was when I apply 5v to the black remember on/off pin 13 on connector cn202 and at that point I had the above mentioned voltages in their respective locations on the power board. 18v on cn203 (actually reading about 20) and 165v on the v-led labled pin (1) on lcn201Comment

by fharris1977Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.1 Photo

by p-topHave vizio E60u-D3. No standby light. Have searched and read all D??u-D3 posts. posts with same symtoms fixed by new power supply, one guy needed back lights also.
main boards are kinda spendy and, out of stock alot of places. i would like to fix my board.

by x_orange90_xI have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... - Loading...
