tnx for your help. problem is solved by reflowing the bga. tv is back to a normal working condition. u put a better heatsink and a notebook fan on 3.3 volt to dissipate heat.

OK thanks, i've heard about the same thing for the 6008 by a Philips tech, the CPU gets too hot, it exists a modify to lower the temp, don't know which, so upgrade to the last version hoping that will solve a bit..

also i,ve realised that my psu board does the same 30 seconds sound that you (dellxps15) told in the beginning of the post, also the bga get warm from the heatsink side and when the two blink error starts, the sound and bga warming finishes...maybe this helps hahahhh

                    Re: philips 42pfl6007h dead...

yesterday was a good night, as my tv was doing "the same" as dell,s, i unassembly the main board and did a little reflow, not a good one because I have no idea how to do it and have no tools, with a hair dresser and contact cleaner.

now the tv starts but I still not get philips letters and the screen is working, but i don,t get the real image. I hope you understand me and help me doing a good reflow to the chip. In the worst i know the problem of my tv and getting a new main board and installing it, right??

                    thank you for everything

New mainboards are off sale, reflowing with phon / hair dresser is not possible, needed at least a hot air gun, and the chip must move at a certain point, i use a double temp one with a long warming on 300 degrees and a fast warming on 600 deg. but attention not to get too close as the chip may be destroyed and nearby components fly away.. heatsink must be detached.

                            Hey,

I gave up on my last TV and got a new one to try.

Only vertical lines. Sound is OK. Screen is black with a few white lines until I change channel, then these colors gradually starts filling up the screen.

Is this fixable in any way or should I just give up on this one too?...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
                            by double_DD
                            Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

                            by alro7779
                            Hello, guys!

The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
                            by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?
