Re: LG 43UF640V half picture
thanks for that daz2206, maybe the screen panel but hoping not, seems strange how i am getting different levels of the fault using different tcon boards, all boards have the same fault of the picture split but one board it is watchable
have since found that when i switch the tv on the bad side of the screen starts up with different tints to the picture, sometimes green, sometimes purple, sometimes blue, and sometimes near perfect picture but still splitLeave a comment:

Re: LG 43UF640V half picture
Only thought with regard to heat and freezing is a bad BGA soldering on board. Grab a can of freeeze spray and try to pin point the location on the board that seems to make the picture get better. The freezer trick is isolating the whole board as a whole but what you need to do is find out in which location this trick is working.Leave a comment:

Hi,
I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.
If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and... -

i have a samsung lcd tv
it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture
all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v
whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v
i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue
no 12v at the tcon fuse
i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse
the odds of having 2... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by Daren87Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... - Loading...
