Re: samsung ps59d6900 no vs or va after unplugging xsus
After wasting an hour or so messing with it i gave up and bought another power supply but unfortunately it was still the same (no vs/va) so i swapped the ysus from the donor one and it all works fine apart from a buzzing noise from ysus board. My question now is should i leave it alone now its working or can i try my original psu back in to check its still ok or do i risk more damage by trying it with a good ysus ?

Re: samsung ps59d6900 no vs or va after unplugging xsus
thank you all for your replies, i did have the tv powered off while disconnecting/connecting things but even after reading toms plasma troubleshooting guide i kind of skipped the wait 15 mins bit :-( and only waited a couple of minutes (which felt like 15 mins when stood waiting) il check the power supply when i get home tonight and try resoldering, i have all the boards from the donor tv so i can use the ysus and xsus from that if needed, as far as im aware it was only the power supply blown on the donor tv, i did try plugging...

samsung ps59d6900 no vs or va after unplugging xsus
hope someone can help with this as i have no idea where to start , the tv came to me working but restarted every 15 seconds (picture and sound were perfect) i assumed it was the mainboard but tried unplugging bits one at a time to see if it stayed on or not, when plugging the xsus back in (tv unplugged) i got a little spark at the connector and the picture didnt come back on after that, everything else seems fine but no picture, i bought a complete tv the same with a faulty psu and fitted the mainboard so tv stays on now but still no picture, on the ysus connector from psu i get.....
VS...

Re: UE55D8000 Power Cycling On Off Issue
check the cable between psu and mainboard, i had the same problem with a ue55es8000 (year younger model) and it was the connecting cable shorting (mine was burned in the pin holes)

Re: sharp lc-70le747kn do i cut panel driver ribbons off ?
i did try swapping the tcon to screen cables over and still exactly the same
all this vertical gate stuff is way beyond me haha is it worth trying to source a tcon or would that not help ? there seems to be a few tcons on usa ebay but nothing on our uk ebay...

Re: sharp lc-70le747kn do i cut panel driver ribbons off ?
Ok just tested the tv again, with everything connected the tv wont turn on and i get 2 flashes from the standby light, with either side panel drivers disconnected from bottom or middle i get the the exact same bad picture. Ive checked tcon ribbons both ends and all seems fine. On a test picture ive noticed (after feeling sick thinking the screen was cracked because of the daft test picture) the far right maybe 1/6th is always black so assuming that is something to do with the problem...

sharp lc-70le747kn do i cut panel driver ribbons off ?
ive had this tv for a while and read up on here about the side panel drivers causing similar problems (hoping freakaftr8 can shed some light on it)
person i got it from said screen went all funny then it would wouldnt turn on at all and just kept blinking fault code (cant remember off the top of my head but think it was 2 flashes) anyway i disconected the side driver ribbon and the tv works but only as in the picture with VERTICAL thick bands, all the tv@s on here with same fault seem to be horizontal bands so should i cut the drivers off the bad side ? (if i remember right the half white...

Re: LG 43UF640V half picture
A new remote isnt gonna work. Even a 10 year old remote should work it. Just tried loads of remotes (including the original remote) on mine and all i can do is channel up/down or power

Re: Lg 60uf770v 4k screen problem
Hmmmm. Just tried to change over to hdmi and i cant do anything apart from channel up/down or power on/off. Ive tried a few remotes (all work fine with my other lg 60uf695v) and even the button under the tv. Cant access menu or input or anything.

Re: Lg 60uf770v 4k screen problem
no i havn't tried anything like that yet, i just assumed it would have been the tcon so bought that, then when i tried some heat on the mainboard it did make a difference (but i burned a tcon cable while trying to see the screen while astill heating it so replaced all cables) i found something similar on youtube in which a new mainboard fixed it so im hoping for the same...
