Hello Jingasharo, I realize you have been kind enough to respond to my inquiry but I wanted to ask another question. Did your TV repair have same two black lines as my tv and other OP? Second question is can you give a range for repair $$? Reason for asking is pretty good TV repair guy told me it's 90% a defective display panel. I've seen over 20 of these same TV's online in the States with same exact issue. I'm guessing this is a complex repair as this TV guy wanted nothing to do with it. Regardless thank you to all of you who took the time to respond. I will absolutely share. All the best!Last edited by jingasharo; 12-16-2023, 01:20 AM.Comment

Thank you Jingasharo for returning the answers to my questions. It was unnecessary for anyone to imply you are not trying to be helpful. You took the time to try to be as helpful as you could and for that I can only be appreciative. I wish you well in future projects. Be well.Comment

by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by thelankanguyThe TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?... -
by stav242I was asked to look at a Sony KD-55X8509C as it was not powering on, no lights.
On inspection, there was no physical issues.
I seated all cables and repowered the TV, then the LED light flashed Green / Amber.
- this seems to indicate repairing required, done by Firmware update.
so downloaded the latest Firmware from Sony website and wrote to 4Gb USB drive.
Inserted the drive and repowered the TV.
LED changed to white flashing/pulsing ... and it sat there for over an hour.
i was unsure what was happening so repowered the TV and now it just... -
by bbrainHi,
I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.
Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?
Thanks in advance!... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-
