Re: Lg 60uf770v 4k screen problem

watching this thread this tv seems to have exactly the same problem as my tv, only difference that i can see is that this tv seems to have two lvds cables from the mainboard to the tcon board, my tv only has the one flex from main to tcon

Re: Lg 60uf770v 4k screen problem

on mine if i disconnect either ribbon between tcon and panel i get the pink stripes screen on the side i disconnect, removing either cable from mainboard to tcon puts tv into test mode (red/blue/green/black/white) without any flickering or colour problems, im still waiting on my mainboard to be delivered from spain (expecting delivery in next few days)

no i havn't tried anything like that yet, i just assumed it would have been the tcon so bought that, then when i tried some heat on the mainboard it did make a difference (but i burned a tcon cable while trying to see the screen while astill heating it so replaced all cables) i found something similar on youtube in which a new mainboard fixed it so im hoping for the same

good ... thanks for the clarification on exactly "what is which, when and where". :-)

I hope your mainboard fixes the issue. Another question, what signal types are your feeding your set with to get those results (ie half screen). what inputs have you tried?

lastly... history of the set... how did it get to this state?

ok. I would try a couple of different input types / signal types to see if you get a different result... of course if you have the time and while you are waiting for your card.
Further, have you tried any type of reset either at the menu or service level?

Re: Lg 60uf770v 4k screen problem

Well I would not think it is a voltage drive problem to the panel as each side of the panel shares the same tcon voltage outputs. It's obviously a drive signal problem to that side of the panel and whatever was showing on the screen the most predominant color is what the panel get stuck on the 1st time you turn it on. Normally in this situation I take a piece of tape and start covering up a section at a time at least 1 or 2 pins wide across the ribbon cable to the panel on the bad side to see if I can get the problem to disappear. I have done this with numerous TV's of course telling the customer that their panel probably has not long left for this world but it's just a temporary "fix".

As a reminder always do this with the TV powered off and then turn it on to see if the problem disappears. Sometimes disconnecting a ribbon from the panel while the TV is on can damage the panel

Re: Lg 60uf770v 4k screen problem

I am not sure if that explains it (voltage issue) as the test screens appear to be fine.
Further, the response to the "tcon disconnect" results in the same display from either side... which unto itself is strange since the "fully connected" display shows issue always on the one side. OP, when you disconnect the right side (assuming the left side is the "grey out" side), how does the left side display with the right side "pink stripped"?

Further, what does the display look like with the menu pulled up? What are the chances that the "menu" is an "overlay" of half the screen ... :-)

Hmmmm. Just tried to change over to hdmi and i cant do anything apart from channel up/down or power on/off. Ive tried a few remotes (all work fine with my other lg 60uf695v) and even the button under the tv. Cant access menu or input or anything.

Same issue the other guy has in the other post. Sounds like a new proprietary LG controller for their 4k sets.

:-( I would suggest you try repairing the remote maybe after a tv reset (power unplug?).

Starting to look like a main board issue... although maybe a powering issue going to said board.

Possible. Maybe firmware. Odd how 2 LGs same issue, and neither can access menu or change inputs...

That's what I thought I have never encountered any LG 4ks or brand new ones but LG always used the same programming code just like Samsung and Sony. I'm starting to think main board firmware problem, Especially since you mentioned the flickering stops when you heat the board. It's just odd that happens on half the screen

IF its one of the samsung type buttons, then it should allow you to get into some control menu by holding the button down and release when powered on and then using the "joystick" function to move thru menus.

I have an HP model : 14-cf0011nf and I want to change its display screen (it has an original 14" full HD TN 30 pins panel) which works without problem but I want to put another screen with an IPS panel, the problem is that I tried several screens but there is no display except with the original screen, I never had this problem before I changed hundreds without problems but this PC is not 'accepted than its original screen
otherwise on the motherboard it displays edp and I don't know, do the panels I tried only work with the LVDS protocol?
If anyone has any information on the subject...

                                            LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem
                                            by jimjoe123
I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                                            Then each time...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?

                                            Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                                            by alltvrepairs
                                            Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                                            Appreciate your help....
