so have you experienced same or similar problem yourself? or are you just guessing?

Yes I DID open back cover and inspected very very carefully, even disconnecting all cables and reconnect, felt each capacitors for bulging or flat, transformers and coils to see any defects, tapped the same while green/pink was happening, no visible burnt, melted parts, etc....I even took it to three repair shops, they inspected and found NOTHING unusual. NOTHING they can do....

    Thanks for few replies...few questions
So you have seen or heard of same problem before? or are you guys just "speculating"?
As I said I spoke with many many LCD tv "repair" people, NONE even heard of my problem.

IF the problem is coming from PC(video card or whatever) then why turning tv OFF then ON bring normal picture back? why not same problem still exist when tv is ON again? like I said even side panel (select, menu ch-/+, etcc is locked out.

I am sure I not the only person...

True, again I was not thinking "pressing hard" did some magic. Since loose connection can cause obvious issues (amazingly many people ignore solid connection and thinking they got a big problem), I wanted to MAKE sure loose connection is not the cause of my issue.

Again, I hope you weren't thinking I was that ignorant to think "pressing hard" would somehow ensure "certification".

As simple as make sure connections are solidly made will solve many perceived issues, it's...

True, it's only common sense, I hope you give me more credit then to think like that. I am no expert but certainly not ignorant either. LOL, But I have read plenty forum post where I go "huh????"...

explain more? I do not understand your point?
On PC end, I got VGA as display 1 output, DVI as Display 2 output, I got DVI to VGA converter, so display 2 (LCD tv) is connected with VGA.
    Does this answer your question?...

Feel free to speculate, ask detailed questions and offer possible solutions or theories.
I been on LOTTA forums where posts are short and sweet. IMHO more detail the better then I know what you are thinking, and sometimes it triggers new ideas on my end.

When green/pink happens, I tried buttons on side of tv (Select, menu, ch-/+, vol-/+, etc..) Nothing happens, it's locked out. TV remote do not work, so I can't test with remote.

Somehow this green/pink issue is effecting TV operation.

Perhaps green/pink issue has NOTHING to do LCD tv at all? maybe PC is the problem?...

Maybe I didn't make it clear, when I said using TV as PC extended monitor, I thought it would be understood as I am using it as dual monitor configuration. PC main display is 19" monitor (not LCD tv) as display 1,, and LCD tv is extended external monitor, display 2.

Interesting you ask "does the other monitor picture turn pink?" meaning 19" monitor. After I posted my topic, I got to thinking while watching a sports game(yes, sports is cure all for everything in life, LOL) that maybe problem is...

First, I connected PC to TV via VGA. and I have removed and reconnected VGA from PC and TV a zillion times, each time I made sure I pressed hard as possible so all pins are connected, In fact I tested VGA cables on other PCs, even bought (2) brand new VGA cables, and still green/pink problem. (BTW store was kind enough to refund VGA cus I told them what I was trying to do, Told me just bring it back if don't solve problem. What a nice people. Good business, I have gone back and bought other things)

    Second, update...

In last 30 mins...screen turned green 3 times and pink twice. I wonder why different colors? Rarely (only few times out of hundreds) screen turned blue. Like I said mostly green, and pink little less

  • LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem

I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

    Then each time...
