Just received this same set, exact same symptoms and solution. STBY voltage was going from .8V to 1.5V. Disconnecting from mainboard and get steady 5V. Once I came across this thread, disconnecting the IR board from the mainboard and got steady 5V and would power on with the power button.

Now I gotta find the replacement IR board... gonna put this sucker on my kitchen wall, lol

Can you explain to me what you have done? I am experiencing exactly the same issue. I replaced the power supply and the main board assuming the same issues brought up. Can you explain your fix so I can try it? Should I replaced the ir board long story short?

No replacement available. Am not familiar with replacing these caps would try by myself but they seem to tiny and I have no experience in this field. Wouldn't even know where to get these parts. Anyone know of a place that could repair this for me or where should I even start?

Some de-soldering techniques there, one simple way is to just use two soldering irons, one on each side, there's a bunch more videos there too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZLQzBOOQbw

Hey guys new here, seeing if anyone is still on this thread willing to try to help. I have this same TV with the same problem up until the low fluctuating standby voltage. The TV just quit turning on and has no standby light. I am getting a good 5v standby, 12v and 24v in there corresponding pins on the power board. unplugged the IR board just to see, no change. Ive just run out of resources, trying to figure out what voltages I should be seeing in certain spots on the main board that would hint at an issue.

                                          Hello guys,
I'm thinking it's bad main board, but I'd love any thoughts or things to try - the board is a couple hundred $$$ and I'd like to be sure before replacing.

So I got this TV dead - no standby LED or screen activity or backlight.

Voltages to main board are on (not sure what the level should be, but here is the connector's (PS CN9102) voltages:
                                          PS_ON: 4.91V
                                          +VA = 18.79 V
                                          +VM = 18.82 V

I spot check voltages on the LED Controller board, and all the large upper inductors have about 9.4V on one or the other side....

                                          Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                                          Where is the short?

After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.

It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....
