Vizio P65-E1 No Activities - Voltages oK

    Hello guys,
I'm thinking it's bad main board, but I'd love any thoughts or things to try - the board is a couple hundred $$$ and I'd like to be sure before replacing.

So I got this TV dead - no standby LED or screen activity or backlight.

Voltages to main board are on (not sure what the level should be, but here is the connector's (PS CN9102) voltages:
    PS_ON: 4.91V
    +VA = 18.79 V
    +VM = 18.82 V

I spot check voltages on the LED Controller board, and all the large upper inductors have about 9.4V on one or the other side.

    On the main board, I see a whole bunch of rails, 1.1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 3.3 V, 5V,...

The main board gets warm (not hot)

Disconnecting ribbons from TCON to MAIN have no impact.

Usually when I see many eBay postings for repairs with 3 month warranty, I think of BGA reflow.. wonder if this is the case?

Anything you'd try at this point? Any experience with common failures on this model?

    Thanks

What is the voltages to the Tcon? You get 12v at fuse? 18v to main board sounds about right. I personally have had this same issue with different Vizio. My experience has no voltage going to tcon. I'd do some more testing before sending out. My fix was reflow the chip also, well I just took a hot air gun to it and very lightly pressed it with some tweezers. Give us the tcon readings when get a chance.

    This will probably help

You're correct, Tcon is not getting any power. Which of the 2 BGAs did you reflow? I have access to a pro BGA rework station. I can get that done tomorrow. Thanks

I did both of them. I saw a video of some dude, I think Nick's tvs, said it's usually the "left one" and then said he just does them both to be professional. So if you have access to that machine lol I'd do them both. But, maybe someone with more experience has an answer.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                  by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

                  by gavric
Hello, i am working on Vizio M70-C3. It can hardly power on, it takes 15 power button presses or remote. Seems like eeprom problem that I seen before but all reading online says that this tv has power board or main board problem.

When tv powers on vizio V logo shows nice on whole screen. picture 1
When it goes into tv mode it only shows good picture on left side of screen, right is all scrabbled up. pic 2
When i start youtube picture shows on left side fine, right is all scrambled. pic 2
When i click video to start playing picture goes black(like when you change...

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead: PSU or Main Board?
                  by fharris1977
Hi. Anyone who has experience with these vizio sets, which pin on this connector is the standby, the 5V pin? Trying to rule out the PSU before ordering a mainboard. I'm getting 0 Volts on all pins on this connector. Trying to jump the standby and PS ON pins to see if the PSU is functioning. Thanks in advance.
