Ok, so probably no boosted voltage in this tv, anyway the panel lights up, 48 leds, 8 across, 6 vertical, all leds are equally bright, then 42 seconds later they all turn off, tested both lines with backlight tester, have 64.5 on both. Kind of seems low if they are 3 volt leds.

After the 42 seconds and they go off, if I try to turn it off and right back on the backlights stay off.

No, I lied, it does come back on, what it does is hit power backlights come on in 5 seconds then go off about 42 seconds later, every time.

Resistor RB114 is marked 4r7 but reading 7.6 ohms, wondering if that would be bad enough to cause this problem.

If you look at the picture in post #1, it's that resistor right there by CB116 by the transformer. Also noticed that the underside of the board where this transistor QB801, located right by the backlight connector is discolored darker than the rest of the board, like it was maybe running hot or something.

You're measuring it in circuit ? Take it out to measure correctly.

Thanks for reply, guess this model wasn't too popular, very few youtube videos of it. Going to trace it before removing it, see where it goes and see if I can decipher what it does. It's smaller than a grain of rice.

Thinking the problem might be one of those 2 resistors, the other one 200, reads 43 ohms in circuit, or maybe QB101 or CB116.

The most notable thing is, before backlights go off after 45 seconds both UL1 and 2 read correctly, when they go out UL1 still reads correctly but UL2 is dead, any ideas? thanks.

Wondering if UL2 is bad or could it be whatever feeds it voltage is bad, not even any guesses?

Would a bad eeprom UF1 make UL2 read dead/no voltage?

I wish I could Lotus but I'm not smart enough to figure out how it works, I REALLY suffer in this area and most other areas lol. Don't have a programmer, was thinking about grabbing eeprom from m-tronicz, less than 10 dollars, didn't want to invest anything in this seemingly sub-standard tv but I'm just determined to figure out the problem, THANKS for the offer.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Assuming...

                                            by HERETIK10
                                            Hi everyone,
I have a strange problem (for me) on an MSI GT70 2PE laptop.
When it's under heavy load, power goes steadily to the battery (for 2 or 3 seconds) then return to the charger. If I remove the battery it turns off.
The higher the load, the lower the voltage on the main rail. We go from 19.5V, PC connected to the charger but turned off (normal consumption of 0.06A)
On, when it draws 2A the voltage is 19.2V, then eventually collapses to 18.5V (and turns off) around 5A.
I removed the first 2 mosfets (PQ13 & 14) from the main rail, without noticeable change....

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

I wondering if there are some usual faults regarding the PS_ON signal from main board to PSU board?
                                            Where do i start looking?

I have standby light and the PSU is working if i connect 3.3V to the PS_ON pin on the psu board....
