Typical BRI analog control is that at 5V = max backlights, 0V = FULLY DIM.
I already suggested you to try lowering the BRI feeding Voltage to see it will vary the backlights level or not.

BTW, it looks like you have strand of wire touching GND pin, you need to clean that up that is why I recommend resistor.

Reconnecting the BRI wire while having BRI and SW jumpered.. Backlights turn off after a few seconds.
The main control BRI but the main board is having problem and keeping that line grounded instead of providing the Voltage level for the BRI.
You know, you are lucky so far from blowing parts on the main board not using resistor for protection.
I see what you're saying about the strands touching the ground. I have fixed the those stragglers so if 5v is Max backlight, then 3.8v should be somewhere around 75% backlight. I'd be comfortable with that. Do you think this is a long term fix?

Di you try lowering the Voltage to see what happen?
It will be a long term semi fix since you can no longer adjust the backlights level using user manual.
As I indicated, typical control Voltage is 0 ~ 5V, yours may no be the same, it can be 0 ~ 3V (or what ever the design is for the panel) too, that is why I told you to do the experiment.

How would I connect AA batteries to it though? Obviously the + would connect to BRI pin, but where would the negative end of the battery connect to?

Ground pin, or use the chassis, and no BRI wire from main board connected to anything.

1.52v AA Battery = No Backlights
            3.21v AA battery x2 = Backlights

The 3.2v looked the same as 3.8v from SW pin as far as brightness goes. So either the range starts somewhere OVER 1.52V, or it starts at 0 and anything below ~2v-3v is unusable. Looking at it I wouldn't pin it being 100% Backlight even at 3.8v. maybe closer to 60-70% range in comparison to my other LED TVs (however this is edge lit I believe, the others are backlit).

At this point I believe the 3.8v supplied by the SW pin is withinin range of acceptance. I paid $10 for this TV 2 years ago and it appears it's finally paid off with a simple jump wire. I've taped and secured the jump wire and BRI wire, and I'm about to close this thing up for use.

              Edit:

              My son loves it lol

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                by smic717394
                Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

MacBook Pro 2011 turns on with keyboard light , screen dead
                by Rav_tangle
Hi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .
                is this...

                Hisense 55E76GQTUK screen removal?
                by Runlinc
Hi all, I need to change the backlights in a Hisense 55E76GQTUK. The screen is glued to the chassis, what is the easiest way of delaminating the screen from the chassis please?
also what double sided tape would you recommend to glue it back in? ….. or is that a question to ask once the screen is out in one piece?
Many thanks for any ideas you have.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...
