have you tried the "tape trick" on the tcon to panel connector (at the tcon)? there was some posts in the past whereby some have placed tape near the end of the ribbon such that it appears to stop some form of "connection issue" at the connector. Of course, this is a "hail mary"... but if you have time, potentially you might search and find some "comfort" there... if you are lucky.
:-(
I don't think it was about snugging, I think it was more about contact "contamination" although that is more my read of the "fix".... as I do believe the tape was placed on the contact side of the ribbon. I do believe the link was originally posted by budm to some one else who was given the "bad panel diagnosis". Not sure of the details but perhaps budm might appear.

Although I've accepted that the t-con should not be the problem and that the panel has failed, why do lines appear over the entire screen, not only on one side?
Are these new pictures taken after the ribbon cables between the T-CON and the panel were re-seated? Those coarse horizontal lines are usually due to improperly seated cables.
