Sharp LC-60LE832U Burnt 5v Standyby... lightning

Hey everyone, I was hoping someone with a big brain could lend me a minute. I have a dps-183bp-4 a board (runtka798wjn1) that took a lightning strike. well.. the transformer on the pole did, blew it up, blew up my outdoor heat pump.. and my tv. So I am looking to change out my exploded ic7905 chip and the related resisters etc. The problem is, is that i can not find a repair kit for my model of board, does anyone know if the Sharp RDENCA336WJQZ (DPS-286AP) Power Supply Component Repair Kit will work?

    https://www.shopjimmy.com/sharp-rden...repair-kit.htm

Making the assumption that my problem lies within ic7905 because it is burnt and the plastic is broken off...so a small explosion took place at a fast rate lol. TV has no power, does not respond to remote or buttons. I have verified that the fuse (f7001) is closed with no voltage change across it, so figured I should just start with the obvious and troubleshoot from there if it does not solve the problem.

I have visited all of the local tv repair shops in my area to see if they sell parts and the only thing they will do is charge me to search for a new power board, then charge me for the board plus mark up, but can not or will not sell board parts to solder in.. anyway, any help is appreciated.

I'm assuming you don't know the actual numbers on the chip?

Your assumptions are correct, I can't make out what the numbers are due to the shard of plastic that's missing from the chip.

Ah I see. Well if it were me I'd think that the kit would work because power supplies usually don't change drastically between models. But if your resistor and diode are both fine, 15 bucks for a chip is a lot. I'll have a look around and see if I can't find the chip number.

Have you checked the service manual?

          http://elektrotanya.com/?q=showresul...at2=schematics

FWIW, this service manual appears to have some references to IC7905:

          EDIT:

The Sharp Aquos LC32D43U has a TNY268PN standby power IC at location IC7905. Looks plausible ...

I have searched through the manual, perhaps I keep missing it? Have yet to find what the ic part code is.. actually I can't find any information on the board itself.

That chip is $3 from China -->http://www.ebay.ca/itm/5pcs-TNY268PN...kAAOSwDk5T7hWb It is so cheap you wouldn't be out anything if it didn't work.. except the month you'd have to wait for China shipping.

EDIT: Found one for cheaper -->http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1pcs-TNY268PN...4AAMXQO21RqVrl but you only get one instead of five.

EDIT2: It was on page 124 of the second link fzabkar posted.

I have ordered a couple tny268 chips (just in case i wreck one soldering it in). Thanks for the input and in a month when I get the chip in ill update lol. may need to look into diodes and resistors but crossing fingers this is the only thing the power surge popped

Is the Fusible R7914 OK? When that IC blew up, it may have taken out the fusible resistor also, you may want to look for other similar resistors to see if they are OK too.

Mouser has the chips too. $1.71 each. $8 shipping and have it in a few days. Waiting on stuff from China will try your patience. I am waiting on some mosfets. I need one. Can't find them in the US. Got 20 for $6.01... ordered almost a month ago....

Try Coppell who have a repair kit that may have the components you are looking for or perhaps you could ask them.

                      Kit:
                      Replacement components for IC7905, R7914, R7918 and D7908.

Thanks everyone for the sources, I have ordered the fusible resistors that feed the chip as well. Because its so cost effective, I figured it would be smart to get it coming anyway.. just in case. Some parts are coming from the US... some from china, so hopefully the wait isn't too long. Thanks again for everyone's input, made the search a lot easier for parts. Go into an electronics store, they basically say flush off. Come here, you guys do all but the work; appreciate it for sure.

Zotac GTX 260 burnt component - can anyone identify?
                            by dicky96
                            Hi guys
This Zotac GTX 260 had a high side MOFET on one Vcore VRM phase short circuit Drain to Gate (Not short Drain to Source)

This has burnt out the drive IC L3E (ADP3110A) and also an SOT-23 device very close to the driver IC. According to the PCB markings 'Dxxx' this is likely to be a diode.

Basically the VRM has 4 phases, two powered from one 6 way connector and two powered from the other 6 way

I would assume each pair of phases are basically identical, the burnt out phase has SOT-23 devices WW1 plus the burnt one.

                            The good phase...

                            by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi Dear Friend., I am working on a Apple MacBook Pro A2338 820-02773-A. The history was that the AON Rail on the Trackpad connector JT400 was burnt. After I removed the burnt connector, I tested with the meter & no shorts. Connected the USB C power & all booted fine, no problems at all. I soldered a New TP connector put in the old trackpad with a brand new Flex cable. The laptop beeped in the start but no display. I removed the connector & the display was fine again. USED a known good Trackpad & a Flex cable, even with this still the same problem. I checked the connector whether...

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

                            Hi folks!
I have a LC-80LE661U that had some interesting issues.
Initially, it would come on and show the sharp logo and would show normal static before shutting off.

I started troubleshooting by disconnecting the led lighting strips and turning it on. It would do the same thing - come on, show the sharp logo and shut off. After reading, it was suggested to replace the main board. That was replaced and the same symptoms resulted. After this and some reading, the parts cannon got loaded up. I replaced the power board, same issue. Replaced the Tcon board and now it...
