Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Thank you for the quick responses! The small corner cable and the driver boards are removed from the left side (facing screen)of the tv. I take the bezel back off and look real close at the panel there.

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Good afternoon!
E701i-A3E. Powers on. Has Backlights. No video. I pulled the T-con and tested the FET and it is shorted. I have 10 replacements. I replaced it. Powered on the TV. the V shows up and left side facing the screen is dark. Then back to the no picture dealio. Ok. Left side facing has issues. Removed the T-con and replaced the FET. I removed the left side tabs from the panel. Now I have the V, then the no signal, but it has lines in it. See attached pic. Need to check my tab removal or T-con has other issues?...

Philips 47PFL7432D Dim screen
Friend brought this tv over today. Says the screen is dim and kinda flickering like the backlights going in and out. I opened her up and looked at the Master and Slave Inverter boards. The 680uf 35v Caps were bulging and leaking. Nice. Hit my Caps bin. I have 3 @35v and 1@25v. I swap them all in including the 25v to test. Sure enough. TV comes back on. Screen is bright all over and no flickering. Ordered 11 more 35V 680uf caps. Easy 15m fix....

Re: Vizio E390VL no 12V
Ok here we go. Brain cramp on the 5V to BL/ON. Long day Already.
Jumpering Pin 1 to Pin 11 (5V stby to Power On) I get the proper 12V lines.
Next up, jumper pin 2 to Pin 12 (5V stby to BL/ON) backlights come on.
Bad main board, right?
Been a few months since I last fixed a tv and now have like 16 to do. :S
Cheers and Beers

Vizio E390VL no 12V
Good afternoon!
I present to you today's patient. An older Vizio E390VL my neighbor gave me since it was dead.
Symptoms:
1. Plug in. No standy lights or Vizio lights up.
2. I have 5.2V on the 5.2V line between PSU and main. (5.18V Pins 1-3)
3. I do NOT have 12V on 12V line between PSU and main. (0.00V Pins 8-10)
4. 0.00V on Pins 11-14
5. When jumpering Pin (5.2V stby to Pin 12) 12V lines still show 0.00V
6. Pressing Power button does not change the voltages and doesn't seem to turn on.
Since Main board is receiving...

LG 55LM4600 Repair Log
Good afternoon!
I cannot find this model in the search history so I will start one for repairing the one I was given.
Symptons:
TV turns on. LG Logo is displayed. Tv Shuts down. PSU board has an LED that flashes 5 Times. Quick check of the voltages show we have the 3.5v Power On and Standby. We also have our 12V, no 24V. I will be checking the other voltages and posting a pic. I cannot find a service manual so if someone has one or a link to it, that would be awesome. Pics in a day or two.

Re: Another 55LV500-UA Turns on. No Backlights. No Sound
Thank you for the quick response. All cables connected. 3.5v jumpered to Drv-on. Tv still goes to standby. When powered on. Backlights come on. No image is displayed. No volts across fuse on T-con fuse. No amps across fuse on T-con. No volts feeding fuse on T-con. I am pretty certain bad main board. Any reason why I could be wrong?

Re: Insignia NS-LCD37 : No Backlights
Received RMA'd board back. TV is good to go. Old main board just has an issue with the backlights not sending the signal to turn on.
Just curious. I know if I disconnected the BL-ON cable from the main to the SMPS that the backlights come on. Any harm in leaving that disconnected for long term use or would feeding it the correct voltage from a different source work as well?

Re: Insignia NS-46E340A13
Is that a correct measurement for one of your 24v lines having 0v?
