If the MOSFETs are not shown as shorts then remove IC U8301, easier way will be removing the two jumpers wires for the GND return of the IC.

I don't know what an IC is.
Thanks guys but we have gone past my skill level. I'd be able to remove U8301 but I'd never get it or a replacement back on, so I'm done with this.

If you guys believe it to be a power supply board, I can wait till one comes along at a good price or scrap the TV.

See post 81, you can remove jumpers instead.

Don't give up when you're so close to the finishing line. Have a try. As you said if you fail then you can look for a replacement board at that time.

Ok budm but will there be any changes since there is no fuse in there?

see post 81 about removing the jumpers to isolate IC U8301.

You don't need the fuse in place because you are looking for a short circuit which is there whether or not the fuse in place.

Ok, now I understand it a little more.
                    Thank you.

Do the resistance readings on the Q components look bad?

They are under a big heatsink which I'd have to remove and to remove that, I'd have to remove a u bunch of other components.

Some of the components are screwed onto the heatsink. How the heck can you get a screwdriver in there? I have a ratcheting and a 90 degree screwdriver but there still isn't enough room.

To move forward why don't you lift the links budm suggested and check to see if you still have 0.5 ohms between Points A to Point B.

I can't. They are underneath a huge heatsink. See my post above.

can you just unsolder one side of the link s and push it through the board to stop it making contact ? to do the tests

You could as a last resort use a sharp knife to slice the copper track, about 1-2mm apart and lift the copper away using your soldering iron. This will isolating the two halves. After the test to reconnect, scratch the green resist off both sides and solder across.

I don't think so. They are completely under the heatsink. Even if I do manage to push them through, I'd never be able to get them back on as the lifted part would be under the heatsink.

I guess I can try that. Let me mull it over. Lol. I'm scared.
Why do I have to lift the copper away? If I cut a thin section out and break the connection, isn't that good enough?

Nothing to be scared of. Sharp knife. Cut positively across the track x 2. Using your soldering iron heat up the piece you have isolated and it should lift off.

Grab a scrap board and try it

Found a bad Ysus board to an lg plasma. Even has a fuse with the correct specs on it.

or remove both and solder a wire link on the underside of the pcb.

                                            Hi All,

I am having an issue with my Vizio M65-C1 where it does not turn on. When I plug it in the stand by light on bottom left of screen turns on (white) then fades away. If I press the power button it turn back on and then fades until it is super dim.

When I remove cover, there are no illuminated leds on the main board, I've seen others with a red/blue led that turns on.

I've done some research and what is interesting is my voltages all seem slightly different from other people. For example +5/3.5v is 3.48V when on which is different from others on here....

                                            Hi all,

I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...

Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited...

                                            To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
