    Vizio VP422 won't turn on.

    I just got this TV. When I plug it in a relay clicks, logo turns Amber and that's it.
    I checked the voltages on the psu, and this is the only readings I'm getting.

    5vsb=5.37
    Ps_on=0.48
    Ac_dect=5.18

    That's it.

      Vp422hdtv10a.
      I used the chassis as my ground. Is that ok?

          Chassis as ground is fine. If you disconnect from the mainboard do you have all your DC supplies. If not connect 5Vsb to PS_On using 1K resistor and check supplies.

            Re: Vizio VP422 won't turn on.

            Disconnected the 2 plugs that go to the mainboard.
            PS_ON now reads 4.8v and the 3 D5V read 0.125v.

            There is also a green led lit up on J8002.

              Are there any other voltages that should be there that are not present?

                Is the 4.8V on PS_ON present without the 1K resistor link?

                  No, I didn't use a resistor. Not sure I have a 1k one and I don't know how to put it on there.
                  Can I slide I'd in the connector? Or solder it on with the connector unplugged or on the bottom side?

                      Does this seem robe a mainboard problem or psu?
                      A mainboard that matches mine for a Samsung panel is $90 on eBay.
                      Another mainboard for the different panel version is around $30.

                      Would it work or are they specific.

                        Hello Malachi,
                        If you isolate the PSU and connect 5Vsb to PS_ON does D5V, Vamp, A12V come up?

                          By isolate you mean disconnect it from all other boards?
                          How do I connect the two? Solder a wire on the back side of the psu?

                            That's one way to do it. I have small jumper leads that connect over the pins and I can push the resistor legs into the other end. Yes, isolate the PSU completely to check it.

                              I think I have some connectors from me router serial recovery setup.
                              So use a 1k resistor also?
                              You post which I quoted doesn't mention the resistor.
                              Does it have to be 1k?

                                It's the size that's mentioned the most. I suppose any value around 1K would do. It's just to make certain you don't short circuit anything and limits the current.

                                    So there's definately no change when you connect 5VSB to PS_ON.

                                    What is the voltage across the large capacitors C8103 & C8104. Its on the hot side of the mains supply so be very careful. Use your meter set to 600V and measure across the two pins of each of the capacitors.

                                        Did you hear the two relays click when using the resistor to force on?
                                        You also need command signals on the CN8002: VS_ON, RELAY_S???

                                          Hi All,

                                          I am having an issue with my Vizio M65-C1 where it does not turn on. When I plug it in the stand by light on bottom left of screen turns on (white) then fades away. If I press the power button it turn back on and then fades until it is super dim.

                                          When I remove cover, there are no illuminated leds on the main board, I've seen others with a red/blue led that turns on.

                                          I've done some research and what is interesting is my voltages all seem slightly different from other people. For example +5/3.5v is 3.48V when on which is different from others on here....

                                          Hi all,

                                          I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

                                          I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...

                                          Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited...

                                          To all the members here...

                                          Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

                                          So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
